Abstract(s)
Embora todas as competências
As intervenções realizadas promoveram o autoconhecimento, o desenvolvimento do
Essas
Depressive and anxiety disorders were among the principal contributors to the global burden of disease in 2019, with non-adherence to pharmacological treatment constituting one of the major obstacles in the management of depressive conditions. Within this context, psychoeducation has been consolidated as a psychotherapeutic approach directed towards enhancing health literacy and optimising therapeutic adherence. This dissertation, undertaken within the framework of the Master's Degree in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, aims to present the educational and clinical trajectory pursued, to evidence the development of both general and specific competencies of the Mental Health and Psychiatric Nurse Specialist, and to illustrate the acquisition of master’s-level competencies through critical and reflective analysis of professional practice. The various Clinical Placements provided experiences that enabled the acquisition and development of fundamental competencies. Although all the expected skills were addressed, particular emphasis was placed on promoting therapeutic adherence, strengthening self-care, and managing the adverse effects of treatments. These areas received greater attention as they were directly aligned with the self-directed learning project and, consequently, with the title of this report. It’s elaboration, within the scope of Module III, represents the culmination of this academic journey, utilising a descriptive, analytical, and reflective methodology underpinned by scientific evidence and professional regulatory standards, namely Regulation No. 515/2018 of the Portuguese Order of Nurses, alongside the theoretical framework proposed by Hildegard Peplau. The interventions undertaken fostered self-awareness, enhanced critical thinking and clinical reasoning, strengthened decision-making capabilities, and refined technical and scientific competencies, thereby consolidating evidence-based practice. Furthermore, these interventions demonstrated the effective translation of academic knowledge into clinical practice, contributing meaningfully to the continuous advancement of mental health nursing care.
