Abstract(s)
A elaboração deste relatório visa salientar a importância do Enfermeiro Especialista
The present report describes the experience and the path developed in an internship in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing. In this journey, I provided nursing care to adults with mental disorders, in the contexts of a Psychiatric Day Hospital and acute inpatient service. Its objective is to present the results of the planning previously made and implemented through the project methodology, having as an underlying theme the therapeutic management of the environment and aggressive behavior in people with mental illness. At the same time, it has the purpose of explaining the path to the development of common and specific competences of the Psychiatric and Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, contributing to this effect the activities developed in both contexts, that are inserted and explained in this report. The elaboration of this report aims to highlight the importance of the Psychiatric and Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist in managing the environment in order to preventing and mitigating aggressive behaviors. Endowed with skills of self-knowledge, personal and professional development, care management or the provision of specialized mental health care, he emerges as a professional of excellence to create and manage the therapeutic environment, in order to prevent aggressive behaviors. Evidence-based intervention, using comprehensive models of reality, such as the Safewards model by Bowers (2014), allows targeting the provision of care, meeting the client's needs and enhancing health gains.
