A saúde sexual constitui-se como parte integrante do bem-estar geral e psicológico dos indivíduos. A satisfação e o prazer sexual, em particular, têm sido associados a diversos indicadores de saúde psicológica, nomeadamente à ansiedade, depressão e stress. O presente estudo versa-se na investigação na relação dessas variáveis nos estudantes do ensino superior, uma vez que se configura como um grupo frequentemente exposto a diversos desafios. O objetivo deste estudo visa a compreensão da saúde sexual, a satisfação e o prazer sexual com a saúde psicológica de estudantes do ensino superior. Especificamente, procura-se avaliar de que forma essas variáveis impactam os sintomas de ansiedade, depressão e stress. A amostra constitui um total de 254 estudantes do ensino superior público e privado, tendo sido utilizados os seguintes instrumentos: Questionário sobre Saúde Sexual e Comportamentos Sexuais, Escala de Prazer Sexual, Escala de Sensações Sexuais, Nova Escala de Satisfação Sexual, Escala de Ansiedade, Depressão e Stress. Os resultados demonstraram uma correlação significativa entre níveis mais elevados de satisfação e prazer sexual com uma menor prevalência de sintomas de ansiedade, depressão e stress. Também foram encontradas diferenças significativas entre grupos de idade e sexo no que diz respeito à saúde sexual e psicológica. Os resultados encontrados evidenciam a importância de abordar a saúde sexual e a satisfação sexual no contexto da saúde psicológica dos estudantes do ensino superior, através de intervenções direcionadas para esse âmbito.
Sexual health is an integral part of individuals' general and psychological well-being. Sexual satisfaction and pleasure have been associated with various indicators of psychological health, namely anxiety, depression and stress. This study investigates the relationship between these variables in higher education students, as this group is often exposed to various challenges. The aim of this study is to understand sexual health, sexual satisfaction and pleasure in relation to the psychological health of higher education students. Specifically, it seeks to assess how these variables impact on symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress. The sample consisted of a total of 254 public and private higher education students, and the following instruments were used: Questionnaire on Sexual Health and Sexual Behaviors, Sexual Pleasure Scale, Sexual Sensations Scale, New Sexual Satisfaction Scale, Anxiety, Depression and Stress Scale. The results showed a significant correlation between higher levels of sexual satisfaction and pleasure with a lower prevalence of symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress. Significant differences were also found between age and gender groups with regard to sexual and psychological health. The results found highlight the importance of addressing sexual health and sexual satisfaction in the context of the psychological health of higher education students, through targeted interventions.
