Abstract(s)
O sucesso de um tratamento endodôntico depende de um adequado preparo químico mecânico dos canais radiculares. As soluções irrigantes desempenham um papel essencial no preparo químico. Dada a ausencia de uma única solução ‘Gold Standard’ que reúna o conjunto das características ideais, deve-se escolher uma utilização alternada e completiva das soluções para potenciar os seus efeitos. Tais como, atividade antimicrobiana, dissolução do tecido pulpar, e obviamente remoção de smear layer.
É essencial perceber as interações que ocorrem entre essas soluções irrigadoras, as diferentes vantagens e desvantagens, e de que modo isso afeta o preparo químico da superfície dentinária. Também é crucial garantir que essas soluções sejam ativadas pelo sistema adequado para maximizar os seus efeitos. Hoje em dia, existem vários sistemas de irrigação disponíveis que várias técnicas manuais ou assistidas por máquinas.
Assim, com o presente trabalho, pretende-se realizar uma revisão bibliográfica sobre os diversos irrigantes e sistemas auxiliares de irrigação, que se encontram associados à desinfeção endodôntica.
The success of an endodontic treatment depends on adequate mechanical chemical preparation of the root canals. Irrigating solutions play an essential role in chemical preparation. Given the absence of a single 'Gold Standard' solution that meets all the ideal features, an alternate and complete use of the solutions should be chosen to enhance their effects. Such as antimicrobial activity, pulp tissue dissolution, and obviously smear layer removal. It is essential to understand the interactions that occur between these irrigating solutions, the different advantages and disadvantages, and how this affects the chemical preparation of the dentin surface. It is also crucial to ensure that these solutions are activated by the right system to maximize their effects. Nowadays, there are several irrigation systems available that various manual or machine assisted techniques. Thus, the present work intends to carry out a literature review on the various irrigants and auxiliary irrigation systems, which are associated with endodontic disinfection.
