| dc.description.abstract | A dissertação “A importância da Meetings Industry nas Unidades Hoteleiras: O caso da região Alentejo”, consiste na caracterização deste produto turístico, de forma a compreender melhor o seu comportamento no setor hoteleiro da região Alentejo. Tendo em conta a importância do segmento MI, pretende-se conhecer e quantificar nos empreendimentos hoteleiros de excelência na região, as suas principais características e respetiva representatividade da MI nesses empreendimentos, avaliando a sua evolução entre os anos de 2010 a 2014. Coloca-se, assim, o foco no Turismo de Negócios, que é seguramente um fator positivo e fundamental para o desenvolvimento socioeconómico de um destino turístico e a MI um segmento a operar durante todo o ano, o que pode trazer à economia nacional o retorno substancial que o Alentejo precisa para progredir. A investigação levada a cabo concluiu que o Alentejo, reúne as condições necessárias para se tornar um destino de negócios. Este segmento cresceu consideravelmente nos últimos anos, e hoje, todos os intervenientes têm consciência da sua importância e do contributo que o produto teve e tem para combater a sazonalidade no Alentejo, tendo para isso que investir e promover o destino Alentejo. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The dissertation “The importance of Meetings Industry in the Hotel Units: The case of the region Alentejo”, consists in the characterization of this tourist product, in order to get a better understanding of its position in the hospitality industry in the Alentejo region. Given the importance of the MI segment, it is intended to know and quantify its main characteristics and respective MI’s represantation with in the local hospitality scene its main characteristics and respective MI's representation, evaluating its development between the years of 2010 and 2014. The focus is, therefore, on the Business Tourism, which is certainly a positive and fundamental factor for the socioeconomic development of an attractive MI destination on a segment to be operated throughout the whole year and, bringing to the national economy the necessary income for the Alentejo to progress. The investigation that has taken place concluded that the Alentejo gathers all the necessary conditions to become a business destination. This segment grew considerably in the last recent years and, nowadays, all the intervenients are conscious of its importance and of the contribution that the product has had and still has to fight the sazonality in the region of Alentejo, and investing and promoting the Alentejo as region of destination itself. | |
