Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho procedeu à análise da temática do crime de violência doméstica (VD), do quadro legislativo existente, da ação policial no combate a este fenómeno e na capacidade para implementar as necessárias medidas de proteção à vítima e aos seus familiares e do peso preocupante dos homicídios em Portugal no contexto deste crime.
Explorou o conjunto de medidas legislativas que têm vindo a ser adotadas relativamente às vítimas quando são perseguidas e violentadas, dando primazia à prevenção da VD.
Analisou se o combate a este flagelo criminal tem mecanismos de resposta adequados no que concerne por um lado à proteção das vítimas e por outro à contenção dos agressores.
Questionou-se a ação policial e se o trabalho desenvolvido tem impacto ou não na redução do número homicídios por violência conjugal (VC) na cidade de Lisboa comparada com a média nacional.
Para responder à questão recorreu-se fundamentalmente ao estudo de dados estatísticos, à revisão e análise documental de diversas obras referentes a VD, assim como de legislação, algumas teses e dissertações, concluindo-se que o trabalho meritório da polícia em Lisboa reduz as consequências mais nefastas deste crime.
The present work carried out the analysis of the crime of domestic violence, of the existing legal framework, of the police action regarding the fight against this phenomenon and the capacity to implement the necessary measures for the protection of the victim and their relatives as well as the worrying number of homicides in Portugal in the context of this crime. It explored the set of legal mesures that have been adopted regarding the victims when facing persecution and violence, prioritising the prevention of this crime. It analised wether there are adequate response mechanisms for this crime regarding both the protection of the victims and the agressor's restraint. It questioned police action and wether the work developed so far has an impact on the reduction of the number of homicides in the context of marital violence in Lisbon, comparing it to the national average. In order to answer this question, the present work resorted to the study of statistic data, and the review and analysis of various works related to domestic violence, as well as legislation, some thesis and dissertations, concluding that the valuable work of Lisbon police can reduce the most nefarious consequences of this crime.
