Tanto por razões económicas como em prol da sustentabilidade, a otimização é a palavra de ordem dos armadores da atualidade. Para atingirem os altos níveis de desempenho desejados, necessitam de ferramentas que lhes permitam melhorar a visibilidade, produtividade e eficácia das operações. A eficácia da operação portuária tem um enorme impacto no resultado da cadeia de abastecimento pelo que é crucial garantir a sua constante melhoria.
O presente relatório tem como objetivo demonstrar o aumento de eficácia na operação de carga de contentores vazios. Esta melhoria foi alcançada através da implementação de um novo processo de controlo de operações, sustentado na utilização de uma aplicação criada de forma a colmatar as necessidades específicas da operação em causa.
O presente trabalho avalia a implementação da solução, analisando a eficácia das operações de carga de contentores vazios (quantidade planeada versus real). Por fim, conclui-se que a implementação foi bem-sucedida, tendo apresentado uma melhoria notável no ponto considerado.

The effectiveness of the port operation has a huge impact on the supply chain outcome, so it is crucial to ensure its constant improvement. This report aims to demonstrate the increased efficiency in the empty container loading operation. This improvement was achieved through the implementation of a new process of operations control, supported by the use of an application created in order to meet the specific needs of the operation in question. The present report evaluates the implementation of the solution, analysing the efficiency of empty container loading operations (planned versus actual quantity). Finally, it is concluded that the implementation was successful, having presented a remarkable improvement in the point considered.
