O presente Trabalho de Investigação Aplicada encontra-se subordinado ao tema
“Peso e importância das Armas Automáticas e Semiautomáticas na Arte Militar na 2ªGuerra Mundial. Estudo de caso: Comparação entre o Exército Americano e o Exército Alemão no começo e no final da 2ª Guerra Mundial (1939 e 1945) ”. Este trabalho em como objetivo realizar uma comparação entre a Infantaria Motorizada Alemã e a Infantaria Motorizada Americana, de modo a verificar o armamento utilizado por ambas as forças e
qual a importância que deram à utilização deste tipo de armamento.
Para a realização do presente trabalho foi utilizado o método comparativo, método
esse que preconiza a comparação de duas realidades, neste caso a alemã e a americana entre 1939 e 1945. Após definida a questão central foi realizado o levantamento de questões e hipóteses com o intuito de dar resposta à questão central. O trabalho assenta numa pesquisa bibliográfica e documental onde, após a sua análise, se procedeu às respostas das questões levantadas no início do trabalho.
Após a realização do presente trabalho concluiu-se que as armas automáticas e
semiautomáticas foram utilizadas largamente durante a 2ªGuerra Mundial, tendo sido utilizadas de diferentes formas dependendo da forma de atuar de cada interveniente. Foram realizados importantes avanços nas doutrinas táticas uma vez que foram desenvolvidas unidades motorizadas que dotaram os exércitos de uma maior capacidade de manobra e poder de fogo.
O armamento abordado possuiu grande importância durante a 2ªGuerra Mundial,
pois o seu uso e desenvolvimento aumentaram significativamente, tendo sido uma das consequências das doutrinas táticas desenvolvidas antes e durante a guerra, além da falta de efetivos e necessidades operacionais existentes.
Abstract This study Applied Research presents the theme "Weight and importance of the Automatic and Semiautomatic Weapons in Military Art in the World War 2. Case of study: Comparison between the U.S. Army and the German Army at the beginning and at the end of the World War 2 (1939 and 1945). "This paper aims to make a comparison between the German Motorized Infantry and the American Motorized Infantry to analyze the weaponry used by both forces and the importance they gave to the use of such weapons. To carry out this work it was used the comparative method, which presents the comparison of two realities, in this case the German and the U.S. between 1939 and 1945. Bearing in mind the main question of the survey, other questions and hypotheses were carried out in order to support the central issue. The work is based on a literature and documental research, which allowed the analysis and the answer to all the questions presented at the beginning of the work. At the end of this work it was concluded that the automatic and semiautomatic weapons were widely used during the 2nd World War, but in different ways depending on the mode of acting of both armies. Important advances have been made in the tactical doctrines, as motorized units that have equipped the armies with a greater maneuverability and firepower were developed. The weapons covered in the 2nd World War was of a great importance because its use and development increased significantly, becoming one of the consequences of the tactical doctrines developed before and during the war, besides the existing lack of effective and operational needs.
