Abstract(s)
O estudo realizado tem como foco o Programa Integrado de Educação e Formação (PIEF), que se constitui como uma medida de promoção da inclusão social e favorecimento do cumprimento da escolaridade obrigatória de jovens com insucesso escolar/abandono escolar, entre os 15 e os 18 anos, conferindo uma habilitação escolar de 1.º, 2.º ou 3.º ciclos do ensino básico.
A elaboração deste estudo prende-se com o objetivo de perceber a importância que o percurso PIEF teve para os ex-alunos do programa. Para responder a esta questão de investigação ergueram-se, igualmente, questões que fundamentam a pertinência do estudo, nomeadamente: Entender o percurso escolar do aluno e a sua influência na integração do PIEF; Perceber se o aluno integrou a Educação Especial no seu percurso escolar; Identificar a perceção e expetativas iniciais sobre o PIEF; Conhecer os motivos que levaram os alunos a frequentar o PIEF; Identificar a importância da frequência do PIEF; Identificar os motivos atribuídos pelos sujeitos à conclusão/não conclusão do PIEF; Identificar as consequências percebidas da conclusão/não conclusão do PIEF; Conhecer os aspetos considerados importantes para a conclusão do PIEF com sucesso; Entender os aspetos relacionados com o ensino, considerados pertinentes para a conclusão/não conclusão do PIEF; Conhecer a opinião sobre a currículo inerente ao PIEF; Entender os aspetos relacionais dos alunos para com a restante comunidade escolar e, por fim, identificar a perceção sobre as aprendizagens adquiridas.
O estudo foi realizado com seis participantes, com idades compreendidas entre os 19 e os 21 anos, sendo dois do sexo feminino e quatro do sexo masculino. Todos os participantes são de nacionalidade portuguesa e naturais do distrito onde se desenvolveu este estudo.
A realização deste estudo revestiu-se de alguma pertinência na medida em que os seus resultados indicaram algumas pistas no âmbito da prevenção do insucesso escolar e abandono escolar, assim como revelaram as perceções dos jovens sobre o Programa, indicando aspetos críticos que possam vir a promover novas metodologias promotoras da inclusão, prevenção do abandono escolar e consequente aumento dos níveis de permanência no ensino.
The study focuses on the Integrated Program of Education and Training (Programa Integrado de Educação e Formação - PIEF), which constitutes a measure to promote social inclusion and foster the fulfilment of compulsory education of young people with school failure/dropout, between 15 and 18 years, conferring a qualification of 1.st, 2.nd or 3.rd cycle of basic education. This study aims to understand the importance that this program PIEF had for the students. To answer this research question, questions were also raised that support the relevance of the study, namely: To understand the student's school career and its influence on the integration in PIEF; To understand if the student has integrated Special Education into their school career; To identify their initial perception and expectations about PIEF; To know the reasons that led students to attend PIEF; To identify the importance of the frequency of PIEF; To identify the reasons attributed by the subjects for the conclusion / non-conclusion of the PIEF; To identify the perceived consequences of completion / non-completion of the PIEF; To know the aspects considered important for the successful completion of the PIEF; To understand the teaching-related aspects considered relevant to the completion / non-completion of the PIEF; To know their opinions about the PIEF curriculum; To understand the relational aspects of students towards the rest of the school community and, finally, to identify the perception about the acquired learning. The study was conducted with six participants, aged 19 to 21 years, two females and four males. All participants are of Portuguese nationality and native of the district where this study was developed. The accomplishment of this study was of some relevance as its results indicated some clues in the area of prevention of school failure and dropout, as well as revealed the perceptions of young people about the Program, indicating critical aspects that may promote new methodologies promoting inclusion, prevention of dropping out and consequent increase of the permanence levels in the school.
