Abstract(s)
With the development of society, organizations have felt more and more the need to strengthen human resources in order to create a healthier environment more conducive to production and success. With this, there is no doubt the leader's role in relation to the development of team spirit and commitment to its employees, leads to the development and strengthening of motivation of themselves and the organization. In an organization such as the Polícia Nacional of Sao Tome and Principe, where the country faces numerous political, social and economic weaknesses, the leader's role becomes even more important because the diversity between individuals leads to numerous and varied sources of (de)motivation where the current situation does not favor the existence of a high level of motivation, having the leader the arduous task, with the group, to find methods that ensure that employees are engaged and motivated. This point argues that it is essential to prioritize the individuals and subsequently the production as it is a sine qua non condition to the organization success. In this sense, for the leader to be successful, and thus lead to the achievement of personal and organizational goals, its leadership must be guided by mutual respect, the recognition/appreciation of the daily efforts of its employees, and for a constant dialogue among various professional categories. This is the way for us to have a motivated, where by example leadership, team spirit and friendship are some of the factors that contribute for the rise of motivation, despite the other problems that may exist within an organization such as deficiencies in working conditions and low pay rate.
