Abstract(s)
A dissertação de mestrado abordou o tema do suicídio na Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR), considerando-o um problema persistente com repercussões agravadas por uma futura crise económica. Iremos abordar os conceitos de suicídio, fatores de risco e protetores, bem como o impacto do mesmo nas instituições de segurança. Foram analisadas estratégias preventivas globais, nacionais e institucionais, bem como o uso das novas tecnologias na prevenção do suicídio. Ao cruzar essas informações com os dados recolhidos, a investigação respondeu à pergunta de partida sobre o impacto do avanço tecnológico na prevenção do suicídio dentro da GNR.
Com a nossa investigação pretendemos analisar a importância da conscientização, formação e apoio psicológico em toda a instituição. A GNR tem utilizado as novas tecnologias em várias áreas, incluindo teleconsulta, análise de dados em formato digital e apoio psicológico remoto. No entanto, há espaço para melhorias, e a colaboração entre profissionais de saúde mental e especialistas em tecnologia é fundamental nesse sentido.
Concluímos assim que as novas tecnologias têm um papel significativo na prevenção do suicídio, contudo verifica-se a necessidade de desenvolver soluções e promover uma abordagem interdisciplinar para superar o estigma e melhorar o bem-estar psicológico na instituição, em particular através das novas tecnologias como aliadas na prevenção do suicídio.
The master's thesis addressed the topic of suicide in the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR), considering it a persistent problem with repercussions exacerbated by a future economic crisis. We will address the concepts of suicide, risk factors, and protective factors, as well as its impact on security institutions. Global, national, and institutional preventive strategies were analyzed, as well as the use of recent technologies in suicide prevention. By cross-referencing this information with the collected data, the research answered the initial question about the impact of technological advancement on suicide prevention within the GNR. Through our investigation, we aim to analyze the importance of awareness, training, and psychological support throughout the institution. The GNR has been using modern technologies in various areas, including teleconsultation, digital data analysis, and remote psychological support. However, there is room for improvement, and collaboration between mental health professionals and technology experts is essential in this regard. In conclusion, we find that innovative technologies play a significant role in suicide prevention. However, there is a need to develop solutions and promote an interdisciplinary approach to overcome stigma and improve psychological well-being within the institution, particularly through new technologies as allies in suicide prevention.
