| dc.description.abstract | A Polícia de Segurança Pública é uma instituição representante do Estado português e tem como principal tarefa garantir a segurança pública. A segurança é uma necessidade que deriva da comunidade, nomeadamente dos indivíduos que a constituem. Atendendo a fenómenos como a globalização e a sociedade do risco, também há outros que ocorrem de forma paralela, como é o caso da fragmentação social das comunidades. Esta fragmen-tação provoca conflitos e problemas de identidade que urge evitar. A confiança destas comunidades é residual ou inexistente. Neste sentido, o fenómeno social deve ser com-batido e evitado através do fortalecimento da confiança. Tendo em conta que estamos a falar de um conjunto de indivíduos, a segurança é um sentimento que deve ser comum a todos. A segurança deve ser vista como uma área de intervenção prioritária para que seja exequível a inserção da comunidade fragilizada na sociedade. Para tal, a polícia necessita de apostar na prevenção, nas parcerias e na identificação/resolução dos problemas do ci-dadão. Face a tal necessidade, o Policiamento de Proximidade é a melhor forma de atuar junto destas comunidades. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The Polícia de Segurança Pública is a representative institution of the Portuguese State whose main task is to ensure public security. Security is a necessity that arises from the community and from the individuals who constitute it. Aligned with phenomena such as globalization and the risk society, there are also others that occur in parallel, such as the social fragmentation of communities. This fragmentation causes conflicts and identity problems which need to be avoided. The confidence of these communities is residual or non-existent. For this reason this social phenomenon must be combated and prevented by strengthening confidence. Considering that we are referring to a group of individuals, security is a feeling that should be common to all. Security must be seen as a priority area of intervention, in order to enable the integration of vulnerable communities in the soci-ety. Accordingly, the police needs to invest in prevention, partnerships and identifica-tion/resolution of citizens' problems. Thus, the Proximity Policing is the best course of action in these communities. | pt_PT |
