Abstract(s)
O presente relatório resulta de uma investigação realizada no âmbito da unidade curricular de Estágio IV do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar e 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e possuí como temáticas principais os trabalhos de casa e o envolvimento das famílias. Deste modo, é apresentado um estudo sobre uma prática pedagógica desenvolvida com uma turma de 4º ano do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, em torno das temáticas anteriormente referidas, ao considerar que ambas constituem um constante desafio aos contextos escolares e aos docentes. No que diz respeito à metodologia utilizada, o presente estudo desenvolvido caracteriza-se por ser uma investigação sobre a prática, pelo que, ao longo do presente relatório foi utilizada maioritariamente a abordagem qualitativa, contudo também foi utilizada uma abordagem quantitativa. Deste modo, ambas as abordagens foram mobilizadas com o intuito de recolher informações e evidências que atribuíssem resposta à questão de investigação: Como promover o envolvimento das famílias no trabalho curricular através dos trabalhos de casa. Com efeito, os objetivos da presente investigação foram previamente definidos e direcionados de modo a promover o envolvimento das famílias no trabalho curricular através dos trabalhos de casa. Assim, a intervenção pedagógica, caracterizou-se pela implementação de trabalhos de casa com características diferenciadas dos comuns trabalhos de casa. Desta forma, o pressuposto foi solicitar e em simultâneo promover o envolvimento das famílias na realização dos trabalhos escolares, potenciando o seu envolvimento no trabalho curricular desenvolvido em sala. Com efeito, através da leitura deste relatório torna-se evidente em que medida a implementação de uma modalidade diferenciada de trabalhos de casa (interativos) pode potenciar mudanças ao envolvimento das famílias no trabalho curricular. Além disto, para além da análise e descrição de toda a prática pedagógica efetuada e as suas repercussões, é elaborada uma descrição e analise da forma como as famílias entendem o seu papel na vida escolar dos filhos, e simultâneo, da forma como os alunos percecionam este envolvimento. Por fim, ao estabelecer ligações entre todos os resultados e informações recolhidas, analisando e refletindo sobre estas foi possível compreender que através dos trabalhos de casa conseguimos promover o envolvimento das famílias nos trabalhos de casa. Para o efeito, é necessário inovar e redefinir as práticas e estratégias, mas fundamentalmente as características utilizadas na implementação dos trabalhos de casa, considerando sempre quais os objetivos da sua implementação e simultaneamente as especificidades da turma e de cada aluno e respetivas famílias no seu individual. Na verdade, não é uma tarefa fácil para o docente, bem pelo contrário, porém, os resultados são bastante vantajosos para todos os intervenientes e em muitos âmbitos.
This report is the result of research done in the scope of the course unit of Traineeship IV of the Masters degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education where the main topic is the involvement of families in the students’ homework. Thus a study about teaching practice which was conducted with a grade 4 class, showing that this subject is a constant challenge in a school context and to teachers. As far as the methodology that was used, the study characterises itself by being an investigation into the practice, and therefore, in this report, a qualitative method was mainly used, although there was also quantitative approach. Therefore both methods were used in order to gather information and evidence to find an answer to the question posed in the investigation: How to promote the involvement of families in students’ curricular work through homework tasks. Effectively, the objectives of this investigation were pre-defined and routed to promote the involvement of families in schoolwork through homework. The pedagogical intervention was characterised by the implementation of homework with different characteristics to so called normal homework. The assumption was to simultaneously request and promote family involvement in the conclusion of schoolwork, boosting changes in family involvement thereof. Effectively, the analysis of the report shows to what extent it is evident the implementation of as differentiated homework task ( interactive), can bring about changes in the involvement of families in child’s schoolwork. Besides this, in addition to the analysis and description of all of the teaching practice carried out. As well as its repercussions, a description and analysis is undertaken on the way that families view their role in their children’s school life, and at the same time, how the pupil’s perceive this involvement. Lastly, by establishing connections between all results and information gathered, analysing and reflecting on these, it has been possible to understand that family engagement can be promoted in student’s homework. To this end, it is necessary to innovate and redefine practices and strategies. Fundamentally, however, the characteristics used to implement homework, should always take into account the objectives of the implementation, and at the same time the uniqueness of each group and each child within that group, as well as their individual families. In effect, this is no easy task for the teacher, quite the opposite, however the results are quite advantageous to all parties involved and multiple spheres.
