O presente projeto de mestrado resulta num ensaio visual
apresentado na forma de um photobook intitulado como “Lisboa
em Mudança: Gentrificação e Turistificação na Capital
Portuguesa", que visa explorar e documentar as mudanças
sociais, culturais e urbanísticas na cidade de Lisboa, causadas
pela gentrificação e turistificação. O foco central é examinar
como esses fenómenos têm impactado a vida dos habitantes
locais e a cultura portuguesa, com especial ênfase na
transformação visual que resulta dessas mudanças.
Ao longo do ensaio visual apresentar-se-á uma série de imagens
fotográficas em que a narrativa retrata diferentes aspetos da
gentrificação e turistificação em Lisboa. Estas imagens
fotográficas evidenciam o presente da cidade, por mostrar a
paisagem urbana histórica e a cultura lisboeta em tempo de
mudança.
A investigação aborda temas como a perda de identidade
cultural, a pressão imobiliária, a deslocalização de moradores
locais e a transformação de espaços públicos e privados em áreas
turísticas e comerciais.
O ensaio visual apresentado na forma de photobook serve como
uma ferramenta importante para futuras investigações sobre as
consequências negativas da gentrificação e da turistificação.
Uma ajuda para a consciencialização da população sobre as
consequências negativas da gentrificação e turistificação e a
contribuição para estimular o debate sobre as mesmas.
This master's project results in a visual essay presented in the form of a photobook entitled "Lisbon in Change: Gentrification and Touristification in the Portuguese Capital", which aims to explore and document the social, cultural and urban changes in the city of Lisbon caused by gentrification and touristification. The central focus is to examine how these phenomena have impacted the lives of local inhabitants and Portuguese culture, with special emphasis on the visual transformation that results from these changes. Throughout the visual essay, a series of photographic images will be presented in which the narrative portrays different aspects of gentrification and touristification in Lisbon. These photographic images highlight the city's present by showing Lisbon's historic urban landscape and culture in a time of change. The research addresses issues such as the loss of cultural identity, property pressure, the relocation of local residents and the transformation of public and private spaces into tourist and commercial areas. The visual essay presented in the form of a photobook serves as an important tool for future research into the negative consequences of gentrification and touristification. It helps to raise public awareness of the negative consequences of gentrification and touristification and to stimulate debate about them.
