pessoa.
This report was prepared as part of the Professional Internship Course with Module II Report of the Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Nursing and reflects the process of developing the common and specific competencies of the Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist, with a special focus on the area of Respiratory Rehabilitation, namely intervention with people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease who are able to tolerate compromised activity. The aim of this report is to demonstrate: a) the development of common competencies for Specialist Nurses; b) the development of specific competencies for Rehabilitation Nursing; c) the development of specific competencies for Specialist Nurses in Rehabilitation Nursing in the field of activity tolerance. In order to produce this report, we used a reflective and critical methodology and presented a care plan based on a clinical scenario that shows the clinical reasoning and specialized decisionmaking process aimed at improving activity tolerance in a person with COPD. The intentionality of the clinical decision was supported by theoretical references such as Orem's Theory of Self- Care, Meleis' Theory of Transitions and Riegel's Theory of Self-Care in Chronic Illness, as well as the Regulations of common and specific competences. The skills developed and embodied in the specialized clinical decision presented proved to be essential for empowering the person with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, the target of care, promoting their functionality, tolerance to activity, through active participation in the rehabilitation process, facilitating the health-disease transition and enhancing their social integration. This report reinforces the importance of exercise training as a central component of Respiratory Rehabilitation, as well as the decisive role of the Rehabilitation Nurse Specialist in improving activity tolerance, well-being and optimizing functionality and/or preventing disability. The experience I had during the Master's in Rehabilitation Nursing contributed significantly to the consolidation of my clinical, scientific and human skills, preparing me for a conscious, critical and person-centred specialized professional practice.
