O contributo do salazarismo representou a construção de uma realidade mistificada, com a cumplicidade ou a conivência acomodada de parte dos media. Propaganda e censura eram partes integrantes de um ecossistema que moldava a percepção que se formava da sociedade e do país. No artigo, aborda-se a ordem informativa do salazarismo, assim como os mecanismos de coerção da ditadura destinados à internalização da censura por parte dos meios e dos jornalistas. O Notícias da Amadora – um semanário que evoluiu do território local e ganhou expansão nacional – rompeu as malhas coercitivas e desenvolveu com as fontes e com os leitores uma acção de oposição à ditadura. Adoptou estratégias várias de desobediência e transgressão do aparato normativo do regime e enfrentou riscos, que incluíam a não sujeição de textos e imagens à censura, para inscrever os factos no espaço público.
The contribution of salazarism represented the construction of a mystified reality, with complicity or connivance accommodated by the media. Propaganda and censorship were integral parts of an ecosystem that shaped the perception that was formed of society and the country. The article addresses the informative order of salazarism, as well as the mechanisms of coercion of the dictatorship aimed at the internalisation of censorship by the media and journalists. Notícias da Amadora – a weekly newspaper that evolved from the local territory and gained national expansion – broke the coercive meshes and developed with the sources and readers an action of opposition to the dictatorship. This newspaper adopted various strategies of disobedience and transgression of the normative apparatus of the regime and faced risks, which included not subjecting texts and images to censorship, to inscribe the facts in the public space.
