| dc.description.abstract | Desde a antiguidade que o ser humano se desloca, ao longo do globo terrestre, em busca de melhores condições de vida, contudo, nos últimos anos, a Europa tem sido desafiada pelo maior fluxo migratório desde o fim da 2.º Guerra Mundial. A violência também comum ao ser humano, pode assumir diversas formas, nomeadamente a do terrorismo. Assim, em paralelo ao fluxo migratório, a Europa tem vindo a sofrer diversos atentados terroristas de motivação jihadista, seja através dos combatentes estrangeiros ou de cidadãos europeus radicalizados. Desde 2015, com o auge dos fluxos migratórios e do terrorismo na Europa, assistimos a vários líderes europeus a considerarem que existe um nexo entre as migrações e terrorismo. Como consequência, a União Europeia perante tais fenómenos necessitou de reformular e melhorar as suas políticas nestas duas áreas. Neste estudo descrevemos os fenómenos migratório e terrorista, assim como as medidas adotas pela União Europeia nestas áreas. Assim abordamos as migrações e o terrorismo jihadista e de que forma podem estar interligados, pretendendo esclarecer de que forma influenciaram as políticas públicas e consequentemente os Direitos Fundamentais. Para alcançar as respostas pretendidas utilizamos o raciocínio hipotético-dedutivo e realizamos uma entrevista a um perito na área do terrorismo. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Since ancient times, human beings have been moving throughout the globe, in search of better living conditions. However, in recent years, Europe has been challenged by the greatest migratory flow since the end of the Second World War. Violence, which is also common to human beings, can take different forms, in particular terrorism. Thus, in parallel to the migratory flow, Europe has been suffering several terrorist attacks with a jihadist motivation, either through foreign fighters or radicalized European citizens. Since 2015, with the peak of migratory flows and terrorism in Europe, we have seen several European leaders consider that there is a link between migration and terrorism. As a consequence, and by facing such phenomena, European Union had to reformulate and improve its policies in these two areas. In this study we describe the migratory and terrorist phenomena, as well as the measures taken by the European Union in these areas. Thus, we approach migration and jihadist terrorism and how they can be interconnected, aiming to clarify how they influenced public policies and, consequently, Fundamental Rights. To achieve the intended answers, we used hypothetical-deductive reasoning and conducted an interview with an expert in the area of terrorism. | pt_PT |
