Abstract(s)
The present investigation is focused in the human resources field, dedicated in studying
and understanding how Job Crafting increases Engagement and reduces Turnover Rates
in university students. This study has three variables, those being: Engagement, Job
Crafting and Turnover Rate. For the purpose of this investigation, the target audience is
all university students, their ages varying significantly, nevertheless focusing more on
those who’s ages range from 17 to 27.
The researcher seeks to understand what can be done to achieve the best results when it
comes to students being enrolled in tertiary education, as such we use the variables stated
above to study how these can have a positive effect on individuals and reduce turnover
rates.
It was acknowledged with this study that was realized that out of the three types of Job
Crafting both Task Performance and Cognitive Job Crafting dimension have a significant
and positive impact on Perceived Performance meaning that both these dimensions have
a compelling effect on students Engagement. In reference to Job Crafting none of the
predictor variables of Job Crafting have a significant impact on the Turnover Rate, which
in this study is perceived as intention of staying. However, on the other side results proved
that Student Engagement has a positive and significant effect on Turnover rate (intention
of staying) the more a student is engaged in his work, environment and community the
more willing he will be to stay.
