A Disfagia afirma-se como uma das muitas sequelas após o acidente vascular cerebral (AVC), sendo uma das mais incapacitantes e comprometedoras da saúde global da pessoa, devido às suas complicações secundárias. A sua presença após um AVC aumenta significativamente o risco de aspiração, podendo levar ao desenvolvimento de pneumonias. Além disso, a desnutrição e a desidratação são complicações frequentes, comprometendo ainda mais o estado de saúde e a recuperação funcional da pessoa.
A elaboração deste relatório surge como a etapa final no decorrer do percurso formativo do mestrado de enfermagem de reabilitação, procurando desenvolver competências numa área de interesse pessoal, através da reflexão, aplicação e avaliação das intervenções realizadas durante o estágio. O seu conteúdo abrange uma fundamentação teórica inicial, alicerçada com os resultados obtidos através da realização de uma revisão scoping e posteriormente descrição de um estudo caso onde se contempla a ação do enfermeiro especialista em enfermagem de reabilitação. A elaboração deste relatório tem como objetivo refletir, expor e analisar a intervenção realizada durante os diferentes estágios, evidenciando o desenvolvimento das competências previstas pela Ordem dos Enfermeiros (OE) para a atribuição do título de enfermeiro especialista em enfermagem de reabilitação (EEER), e pelas orientações dos descritores de Dublin do 2.º Ciclo, no âmbito da obtenção do grau de Mestre.
Para complementar e legitimar as intervenções de enfermagem realizadas, foi utilizada a Teoria do Autocuidado de Dorothea Orem, não só para suportar a atuação na disfagia pós-AVC, mas também em todas as áreas de intervenção. De modo a planificar melhor as intervenções, foi estruturado um plano de atividades que descreve os objetivos gerais e específicos propostos para serem atingidos durante os diversos contextos de estágio.
A reabilitação revela-se de caráter crucial e promissor na capacitação, ensino, redução de riscos e tratamento da disfagia em pessoas com AVC. Através de um programa de intervenções alicerçadas em evidência científica, pretende-se não só desenvolver as competências, mas também desenvolver estratégias eficazes com foco na promoção da deglutição, e que maximizem a recuperação funcional e redução de complicações associadas à disfagia.
Dysphagia is one of the many sequelae following a stroke, and is one of the most disabling and compromising to a person's overall health due to its secondary complications. Its presence after a stroke significantly increases the risk of aspiration and can lead to the development of pneumonia. In addition, malnutrition and dehydration are frequent complications, further compromising the person's state of health and functional recovery. This report is the final stage in the course of the master's degree in rehabilitation nursing, seeking to develop skills in an area of personal interest, through reflection, application and evaluation of the interventions carried out during the internship. Its content includes an initial theoretical foundation, based on the results obtained through a scoping review, and then a description of a case study which looks at the work of nurses specializing in rehabilitation nursing. The purpose of this report is to reflect on, present and analyze the intervention carried out during the different internships, highlighting the development of the competences laid down by the Order of Nurses for the award of the title of specialist nurse in rehabilitation nursing, and by the guidelines of the Dublin descriptors of the 2nd Cycle, within the scope of obtaining the Master's degree. To complement and legitimize the nursing interventions carried out, Dorothea Orem's Self-Care Theory was used, not only to support action in post-stroke dysphagia, but also in all areas of intervention. In order to better plan the interventions, an activity plan was structured which describes the general and specific objectives proposed to be achieved during the various internship contexts. Rehabilitation proves to be crucial and promising in the training, teaching, risk reduction and treatment of dysphagia in people with strokes. Through a program of interventions based on scientific evidence, the aim is not only to develop skills, but also to develop effective strategies focused on promoting swallowing and maximizing functional recovery and reducing complications associated with dysphagia.
