Abstract(s)
Apesar do
específicas do enfermeiro especialista. A área temática escolhida teve especial
enfermagem Technological competency as caring in nursing, Vigilance: the essence
of nursing e Domains of nursing practice.
Delirium is a neurocognitive syndrome that affects attention, cognition, and consciousness domains due to a systemic disturbance and is considered to have a multifactorial cause. This has a strong impact on the outcomes of critically ill patient, the family, as well as an impact on organizations. Despite the growing concern of the scientific community with this issue, its management remains a challenge, and it is important that nurses recognize the importance of minimizing the impact of delirium on patients. This report was developed within the scope of the master’s degree in critical care nursing, with the purpose of analysing and reflecting on the competencies developed and recommended for the master's degree, and the general and specific competencies of specialist nurses. The thematic area chosen was particularly relevant as a guiding element throughout this journey, being scientifically anchored in the integrative literature review on nursing interventions for delirium management in critically ill patients. Throughout this process, care practice was based on the theoretical nursing models Technological competency as caring in nursing, Vigilance: the essence of nursing, and Domains of nursing practice. Aiming to develop specialized skills in the complexity of practice, clinical teaching in emergency and intensive care settings was carried out, as well as other activities considered relevant and that allowed to achieve the objectives set for this journey and in each specific context.
