O presente relatório enquadra-se no âmbito do Mestrado de Qualificação para a Docência em Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. Esta investigação coincidiu com a necessidade de se refletir sobre a prática pedagógica desenvolvida ao longo de três semestres, onde se tornou relevante dinamizar o espaço da biblioteca escolar e contribuir para a promoção da leitura junto dos alunos.
Nos últimos anos aprofundaram-se conhecimentos sobre o papel que a biblioteca escolar desempenha na promoção de hábitos e gosto pela leitura, junto dos jovens portugueses, na apropriação de competências leitoras transversais a todas as áreas, e por isso determinantes na vida diária dos cidadãos. A biblioteca escolar passa a estar integrada nas ações pedagógicas das instituições, sendo que cabe à comunidade educativa envolver-se neste processo, por forma a dinamizar o espaço e contribuindo para a promoção de hábitos e gosto pela leitura.
No contexto do paradigma interpretativo, esta investigação assume um design de investigação-ação, e implicou o desenvolvimento de atividades, promovidas junto de uma turma de 3.º ano de escolaridade, com o intuito de dinamizar o espaço da biblioteca escolar e contribuir para a promoção da leitura. Desta forma, recorreu-se a vários instrumentos, como a observação, o diário de bordo, as conversas informais, a recolha documental e os questionários, para se observar, planificar, refletir e intervir junto dos participantes, em resposta a três objetivos estipulados – dinamizar a biblioteca escolar; promover a leitura; dar a conhecer autores portugueses e as suas obras.
Os resultados dão conta da implementação do projeto de intervenção e evidenciam o contributo das estratégias promotoras de leitura desenvolvidas junto dos alunos
This report was prepared as part of the Master’s Degree for Qualification in Pre-School and Primary Teaching. This investigation coincided with the need to reflect on the teaching practice carried out during three semesters, in which it became relevant to dynamize the school library and to contribute for the promotion of reading near the students. Over the last years, there was a widening of knowledge about the role of the school library in the promotion of reading habits and reading pleasure, on the acquisition of transverse reading competences which are determinant in citizen’s daily life. The school library is now included in the pedagogical actions of the institutions, this meaning that educational communities are supposed to involve themselves in this process, so as to make the space “come to life” and contribute for the promotion of reading habits. In the context of the interpretive paradigm, this investigation takes on an action research design, and involved developing activities in a 3rd grade class, with the goal of using the school library and promoting reading habits. This way, many instruments were used, such as observation, research diary, informal conversations, documental research and questionnaires, in order to observe, plan, reflect and intervene near the participants, so as to meet the three stipulated goals – to make the school library more dynamic; to promote reading habits; to present Portuguese authors and their books. The results show how the project was implemented and emphasize the contribution of strategies for the promotion of reading among the students.
