Abstract(s)
This academic journey aims to develop differentiated competencies for obtaining a master's degree and the professional title of Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing through an internship. During this internship, the student must demonstrate the acquisition and development of the skills and knowledge necessary for professional practice. Firstly, an internship project was drawn up in which strategies and activities to be developed were planned based on the previously identified problem, which is based on the area of interest - Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing interventions to promote gait in stroke survivors. Being an increasingly prevalent disease and the main cause of hospitalization due to neurological illness, it causes motor and sensory deficits that affect gait, a limitation that predicts the inability to perform activities of daily living and social participation. In this way, rehabilitation plays a fundamental role in restoring motor function to improve functional independence and well-being. This report aims to describe and analyze the activities carried out during the internship to minimize this problem, which enabled the development of the competencies recommended in the Dublin descriptors for the second cycle of teaching, conferring a Master's degree under the competencies defined by the Order of Nurses for the award of the professional title of Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing. Dorothea Orem's Self-Care Deficit Theory was used as the theoretical reference to support the care practice. The interventions developed are based on this theory and aim to improve functional capacities and promote maximum independence in activities of daily living and quality of life.
