Abstract(s)
A actividade de segurança privada é uma área com um potencial crescente na sociedade portuguesa, não se podendo olvidar que este sector é propício a situações de conflito com direitos, liberdades e garantias. Ao lidar directamente com estes direitos constitucionalmente consagrados, esta actividade reveste-se de uma especial importância, sendo imprescindível uma formação dos seus elementos adequada e exigente.
Neste contexto, uma formação inicial de qualidade constitui um factor preponderante para a melhoria do serviço prestado às populações. No entanto, as matérias previstas legalmente para os módulos de formação base, bem como as respectivas cargas horárias e conteúdos programáticos, revelam-se desadequadas face às novas exigências em termos de segurança e à diversidade de problemas que os vigilantes privados são chamados a resolver.
A presente investigação tem, precisamente, por objectivo reflectir sobre o actual modelo de formação deste sector, recorrendo para isso à realização de um estudo exploratório junto dos formadores de seis diferentes centros de formação, devidamente credenciados.
The private security activity is an area with an increasing potential in the Portuguese society and we must not forget that this sector is conductive to conflict situations with rights, freedom’s and guarantees. Since directly dealing with rights enshrined in the Constitution, this activity is of major importance and it is mandatory that its elements have an efficient and effective training. In this context, a high quality initial training is the key factor to improve the service provided to populations. Nevertheless, the subjects legally foreseen for the basic training modules, such as timetables and programmed contents are inadequate to new challenges regarding security and the variety of problems security men are called upon to solve. The present investigation aims to reflect on the current training model of this sector using an exploratory study with five symptomatic companies.
