Resumo
Este relatório é o resultado do Estágio Profissionalizante do Mestrado em Engenharia Alimentar da Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra. Este estágio decorreu na Faster - Produtos Alimentares, Lda., entre os dias 5 de Maio e 7 de Novembro de 2014. Uma das bases fundamentais da legislação alimentar consiste em fornecer ao consumidor um suporte para que faça escolhas informadas em relação aos géneros alimentícios que consome. Para que tal seja possível, a rotulagem alimentar deve adequar-se às preocupações do consumidor, sendo informativa, clara e exacta, de forma a prevenir práticas que o induzam em erro. Com a livre circulação de bens e serviços dentro da União Europeia, foi imperativo criar legislação que garanta e defenda o direito à informação dos consumidores europeus, e uniformizar a existente. Para isso foi criado o Regulamento (UE) nº1169/2011 relativo à prestação de informação aos consumidores sobre os géneros alimentícios. A Faster – Produtos Alimentares, Lda., que tal como todos os operadores do sector alimentar foi obrigado a implementar as alterações previstas no Regulamento (UE) nº1169/2011. O principal objectivo deste trabalho foi identificar, especificar e colocar em prática todas as alterações impostas por este Regulamento. Através da apreciação do Regulamento e das alterações impostas é possível concluir que este contribui para um aumento do nível de protecção da saúde do consumidor, salvaguardando os seus interesses no momento da compra do género alimentício, sendo os operadores alimentares os responsáveis para que os consumidores tenham a possibilidade de fazer uma escolha informada.

Abstract This report is the result of the Professional Training of the Food Engineering's Master Degree on Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra. This stage took place at Faster - Produtos Alimentares, Lda., between May 05 and November 7, 2014. One of the fundamental bases of food law is to provide the consumer a support to make informed choices in relation to food they consume. For this to be possible, food labeling should be suitable for the consumer concerns, being informative, clear and precise in order to prevent practices that mislead. With the free movement of goods and services within the European Union, it was imperative to create legislation to guarantee and defend the right to information of European consumers, and standardize the existing one. For it was created the Regulation (EU) nº1169/2011 concerning the provision of information to consumers about food. Faster – Produtos Alimentares, Lda., which like all food business operators had to implement the changes provided for the Regulation (EU) nº1169/2011. The main objective was to identify, specify and implement all the changes imposed by this regulation. Through the analysis of the Regulation and his imposed changes, we conclude that this contributes to an increased level of protection of the consumer health, safeguarding its interests when buying the food, being the food operators responsible for consumers to have the possibility of making an informed choice.
