Resumo(s)

Background and purpose: Blended intensive programs (BIP) in higher education merge short-term mobility with online collaboration (BIP, 2023). These initiatives foster innovative learning and teaching methods, facilitating joint curricular development for students, academics, and staff in Higher Education Institutions (HEI). Subsequently, international programs alike enable and empower students to create innovative solutions for global health issues. Description: To enhance student’s understanding of global health and social challenges, seven HEIs developed a BIP. The course delved into various impacts on global health, such as migration, non-communicable diseases, climate change and economic impact. The relevance of the Sustainable Development Goals for global health was also highlighted. By its conclusion, participants had gained insight into global health complexities and the necessity of collaborative innovation. Upon concluding the course, participants were surveyed via an online questionnaire. This evaluation comprised both quantitative data, such as scores, and qualitative feedback, providing a positive and comprehensive insight into participants' experiences and learning outcomes. Importance: Participants' positive feedback highlights BIPs' potential for innovative learning and teaching. Additionally, the multicultural and interdisciplinary student cohort could significantly enhance personal and professional growth post-course. This could enable future joint development of blended mobility in curricula for students, academics, and administrative staff.
