- COMPLEMENTARES DE VALIDADE DA FEAR OF COVID-19 SCALE (FCV-19S) NO NORDESTE BRASILEIROPublication . Lopes Da Cunha, Laís Renata; Silva, Paulo Gregório Nascimento Da; Martins Monteiro Silva, Ana Carolina; Araújo, Gleyde Raiane de; Medeiros, Emerson Diógenes; Laurany, Barbosa SantosThe objective was to gather complementary validity evidence regarding the internal structure of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) in northeastern Brazil. The pattern of relationship between fear of Covid-19 and dysfunctional anxiety due to COVID-19 was verified. There were 359 participants from different states in the Brazilian northeast (Age = 29.97; SD = 10.91; ranging between 18 and 63 years old), the majority from Piauí (66.9%) and women (71.9 %). Through confirmatory factor analysis, alternative models (one- and two-factor) were tested, corroborating the adequacy of the two-factor model. Pearson correlations (r) were performed, showing positive and moderate relationships between fear of COVID-19 and its respective factors (emotional response and physiological response), with dysfunctional anxiety due to COVID-19, indicating evidence of convergent validity. It is concluded that the FCV-19S gathered psychometric evidence and can be considered a two-dimensional structure for assessing fear of COVID-19.
