- Fatores intrínsecos associados a dor no ombro em praticantes de surf: um estudo de caso-controloPublication . Adegas, Daniela; Almeida, PatríciaBackground: The demands of a sport such as surfing are high, paddling is one of the most common movements during a surfing session and therefore the load on the shoulder joint increases. Despite growing evidence regarding surf-related injuries, risk factors should be taking into consideration in a deeper analysis. This study was designed to contribute to greater knowledge of intrinsic factors that may be associated with shoulder injuries. Objective: The aim of this study is to determine if physical characteristics such as range of motion, shoulder strength, proprioception, scapular dyskinesia, core endurance and pectoralis minor length might be associated with shoulder injuries in surfers. Methods: Forty-one surfers aged between 18 and 45 years enrolled this study. Firstly, a socio-demographic questionnaire was filled out addressing anthropometric features and previous pain history (three months prior), the second part, an assessment was carried out: range of motion (ROM), shoulder muscle strength, proprioception (joint position sense), core endurance and pectoralis minor length was measured. Results: Shoulder active range of motion values did not differ between both groups. Normalized shoulder strength and IR:ER ratios for surfers with and without shoulder pain history was not significantly different. End-range position (80º) showed minor relative error scores on surfers who reported previous pain history. There is no correlation between dyskinesia and shoulder pain. Pectoralis minor length did not shown association with a painful shoulder. Symptomatic surfers did show differences in core endurance regarding prone bridge test. Conclusion: Shoulder pain is a recurring symptom both in competitive and free-surfers. All shoulder parameters: range of motion, strength, dyskinesia, pectoralis minor length, side bridge test, CKCUEST were independent of a history of pain story. End-range (80º) proprioception as well as prone bridge test shown significant differences between surfers who reported previous pain and surfers who did not have previous complains. This study provides a basis for more studies to carry on surf investigation.
- O uso de materiais manipuláveis na Educação Pré-escolar:Publication . Santos, Patrícia; Machado, RicardoO presente relatório insere-se no âmbito da prática de ensino supervisionada do Mestrado de Qualificação para a Docência em Educação Pré-Escolar, desenvolvida numa IPSS situada em Lisboa, com um grupo de crianças de 5/6 anos. Tem como objetivo a utilização dos materiais manipuláveis nas aprendizagens matemáticas e as estratégias que utilizam. A Matemática assume um papel muito importante no quotidiano das crianças. Ao se utilizar os materiais manipuláveis estruturados e não estruturados estão a consolidar aprendizagens e também a construir novos conhecimentos. Assim sendo, a Matemática apresenta características que permitem o desenvolvimento de capacidades e competências, tais como, o raciocínio (matemático) e a comunicação (matemática). A presente investigação enquadra-se num design de estudo de caso, do paradigma interpretativo. Os participantes foram seis crianças da educação pré-escolar, os instrumentos de recolha de dados utilizados foram a observação, o diário de bordo, as conversas informais e, por fim, a recolha documental. Os resultados mostram que os materiais manipuláveis estruturados e não estruturados têm uma importância muito grande na aprendizagem e na construção de conhecimentos.
- Gestão e Comunicação dos riscos naturais e tecnológicos em LuandaPublication . Manuel, Edina; Oliveira, AnaA noção de risco tem sido uma constante ao longo da história da humanidade, testemunhando uma evolução contínua de conceitos e perceções. Inicialmente, os riscos eram primariamente naturais, atribuídos a forças sobrenaturais, mas com os avanços tecnológicos, especialmente a partir da era industrial, novos riscos associados às atividades humanas começaram a surgir, com ou sem componentes naturais. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo geral criar um plano de gestão de riscos para Luanda, Angola. Paralelamente, visou-se compreender o que é um risco e qual o processo de gestão de risco, bem como identificar os principais riscos que afetam a cidade de Luanda. A metodologia adotada baseou-se numa investigação exploratória e descritiva, utilizando o método de investigação hipotético-dedutivo. Como suportes da investigação, recorreu-se à análise documental, revisão bibliográfica e questionário à população sobre a sua perceção dos riscos. Os resultados deste estudo revelaram que a nova regulamentação desempenha um papel crucial na facilitação da gestão de riscos. Um plano de preparação para desastres pode adotar várias formas, desde uma estratégia abrangente de redução e preparação até um plano de contingência detalhado para lidar com ameaças específicas.

The civil aviation sector must maintain the optimal balance between economic progress, social development and environmental responsibility to meet the increasing demands in a “Sustainable” way. Airport investments in the civil aviation sector are very expensive investments that do not have alternative uses for other purposes. For this reason, environmental sustainability approaches are needed in airports' planning, construction, and operation to use limited resources effectively. Noise, air and water pollution, and natural resource consumption at an airport all adversely impact the environment. In addressing their environmental impact concerns, airports increasingly try to become “green” or more environmentally friendly. A "green airport" has a minimal impact on the environment and endeavours to become a carbon-neutral facility in terms of carbon emissions, aiming to produce zero greenhouse gas emissions. In this study, the different sustainability strategies employed by airports are investigated to understand the carbon emissions caused by airline transportation, its impact on the environment, and the best practices for pro-longed sustainability. Various applications are being developed and implemented at airports worldwide, thus trying to reduce carbon emissions. Airports are actively working to combat climate change with a net zero carbon target. Airports worldwide are parties to various regulatory bodies that apply environmental management and certification systems to their infrastructure and operations. In particular, airports' efforts to manage and reduce CO2 emissions through Airport Carbon Accreditation are important in minimizing negative impacts on the environment and preventing pollution within the life cycle framework. Turkish airports are also trying to implement an environmentally friendly policy and are trying to get the title of green organization by DGCA. In this regard, some initiatives have been taken by airline companies in Turkey to reduce carbon emissions Environmental sustainability studies at Istanbul Airport in Turkey are extremely comprehensive. At Istanbul Airport, work is carried out in line with the principle of sustainability at every stage, from design to construction and from the construction period to the operation process. Istanbul Airport fulfils the ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Calculation and Verification Management System Standard requirements and the Airport Carbon Accreditation program for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions. The airport effectively identifies greenhouse gas emission sources, thanks to the greenhouse gas management system that works integrated with the ISO 50001 Energy Management System. Istanbul Airport became the first airport in Turkey to receive Level 4 Transformation in Airport Carbon Accreditation. Notably, Istanbul Airport has progressed from Level 1 to Level 4 within the scope of Airport Carbon Accreditation, recording a 21% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions since 2019.
