- Product traceability in manufacturing industries: Business case and pilot project.Publication . Gonnagar, Anand SubhashchandraInnovation is increasing rapidly in every sector of the industry. This improvement and development are imperative to industries. Some are up-to-date, and others are improving. We are already witnessing the era of technology-dependent industry, where technology plays a key role in the manufacturing processes. Disruptive technologies are changing the way enterprises operate. It is essential for the industries which are focused on delivering fast and reliable service to the clients. As the technology and innovation are increasing, they could help the ceramic industry for the options presently available in interrelated technology, which are already impacting the industrial development in Industry 4.0 During previous industrialization eras there have been many improvements in different industrial sectors, which have led to rapid growth universally across industries. The present research included the review of approaches towards the ceramic traceability industry. This thesis presents a discussion on traceability of products in the ceramic industry by observing the production process. There are many stages of the production process where the materials and products are difficult to track, However, industries are concerned about the quantity and number of products produced that will meet the expectations at the end. It is challenging for the enterprises to manage, organize and trace the products throughout the manufacturing process, from raw material till final packaging. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems are a common and useful tool in manufacturing, supply chain management, and retail inventory control. Optical barcodes, another universal automatic identification system, have been a familiar packaging feature on consumer items for years. Due to advances in silicon manufacturing technology, RFID costs have dropped significantly. Soon, low-cost RFID “electronic product codes” or “smart-labels” may be a practical replacement for optical barcodes on consumer items. Unfortunately, the universal deployment of RFID devices in consumer items may pose new security and privacy risks not present in closed manufacturing environments. This thesis presents an introduction to RFID technology, identifies several potential threats to security and privacy, and offers several practical proposals for efficient security mechanisms.
- Laboratory information management system study & development of LIMS web platform application for CTCV - CoimbraPublication . Baldaniya, Hitesh DThe World Wide Web not only changes the process but also improves the user experience. Also, it dramatically changes how the computer software is built. This profound evolution of software development has caused developers in the software industry to change their way of developing software. In this project, the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for Staff and Users of small business have been designed and developed using Throwaway Prototyping methodology with the web architecture. Different types of development platforms are available in the market to develop this application, but as per the company requirements, this application was developed with the .net framework. This web application allows us to access application data on different devices like a tablet, a desktop, a smartphone from the remote location all over the world. The main feature of this application offers to monitor the application activity like which activity was performed by the user with the corresponding date, time and short description. Therefore, this software uses an industry standard relational database management system (RDBMS) combined with a platform-independent web browser interface for data entry and the retrieval. (The 3-tier technology) The laboratory workflow steps facilitate the management and tracking of all test and test results, which ensures that the right information is available at the right time to a right person. This system will produce an efficient process in the laboratory which leads to faster work, fewer errors, and smoother workflow for an organization. Keywords Industry
- Angular analysis of the decay B$^+$$\to$ K$^+\mu^+\mu^-$ in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 8 TeVPublication . CMS collaboration (2300 authors); Nayak, Aruna; Bargassa, Pedrame; Beirão Da Cruz E Silva, Cristóvão; Di Francesco, Agostino; Faccioli, Pietro; Galinhas, Bruno; Gallinaro, Michele; Hollar, Jonathan; Leonardo, Nuno; Lloret Iglesias, Lara; Seixas, Joao; Strong, Giles; Toldaiev, Oleksii; Vadruccio, Daniele; Varela, Joao; Vischia, Pietro; David Tinoco Mendes, Andre; Silva, Pedro; Musella, PasqualeThe angular distribution of the flavor-changing neutral current decay B$^+$$\to$ K$^+\mu^+\mu^-$ is studied in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. The analysis is based on data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.5 fb$^{-1}$. The forward-backward asymmetry $A_{\mathrm{FB}}$ of the dimuon system and the contribution $F_{\mathrm{H}}$ from the pseudoscalar, scalar, and tensor amplitudes to the decay width are measured as a function of the dimuon mass squared. The measurements are consistent with the standard model expectations.
- Search for pair- and single-production of vector-like quarks in final states with at least one $Z$ boson decaying into a pair of electrons or muons in $pp$ collision data collected with the ATLAS detector at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeVPublication . ATLAS collaboration (2922 authors); Aguilar Saavedra, Juan Antonio; Amor Dos Santos, Susana Patricia; Araque Espinosa, Juan Pedro; Castro, Nuno Filipe; Conde Muino, Patricia; Da Cunha Sargedas De Sousa, Mario Jose; Dias do vale, Tiago; Faisca Rodrigues Pereira, Rui Miguel; Fiolhais, Miguel; Galhardo, Bruno; Gomes, Agostinho; Goncalo, Ricardo; Jorge, Pedro; Machado Miguens, Joana; Maio, Amelia; Maneira, Jose; Mendes Gouveia, Emanuel Demetrio; Oleiro Seabra, Luis Filipe; Onofre, Antonio; Costa Batalha Pedro, Rute; Pereira Peixoto, Ana Paula; Santos, Helena; Saraiva, Joao; Silva, Jose Manuel; Tavares Delgado, Ademar; Veloso, Filipe; Wolters, HelmutA search for vector-like quarks is presented, which targets their decay into a $Z$ boson and a third-generation Standard Model quark. In the case of a vector-like quark $T$ ($B$) with charge $+2/3e$ ($-1/3e$), the decay searched for is $T \rightarrow Zt$ ($B \rightarrow Zb$). Data for this analysis were taken during 2015 and 2016 with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider and correspond to 36.1 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV. The final state used is characterized by the presence of a $Z$ boson with high transverse momentum, which is reconstructed from a pair of opposite-sign same-flavor leptons, as well as $b$-tagged jets. Pair- and single-production of vector-like quarks are both taken into account and are each searched for using optimized dileptonic exclusive and trileptonic inclusive event selections. In these selections, the high scalar sum of jet transverse momenta, the presence of high-transverse-momentum large-radius jets, as well as - in the case of the single-production selections - the presence of forward jets are used. No significant excess over the background-only hypothesis is found and exclusion limits at 95% confidence level allow masses of vector-like quarks of $m_T > 1030$ GeV ($m_T > 1210$ GeV) and $m_B > 1010$ GeV ($m_B > 1140$ GeV) in the singlet (doublet) model. In the case of 100% branching ratio for $T\rightarrow Zt$ ($B\rightarrow Zb$), the limits are $m_T > 1340$ GeV ($m_B > 1220$ GeV). Limits at 95% confidence level are also set on the coupling to Standard Model quarks for given vector-like quark masses.
