The project aimed at the development of a platform for infrastructure asset management tailored to Portuguese water utilities. The platform allows the integration of different data from several information systems of the water utilities and includes several tools for the performance assessment of the water supply systems in terms of water losses, energy efficiency and quality of service (i.e., water and energy balances and key performance indicators). The developed platform was tested with data from five small to medium size Portuguese water utilities with different maturity levels in terms of technological and human resources. The obtained results are very promising because the platform allows for periodic system performance assessment which constitutes an important part of the infrastructure asset management for small and medium-sized water utilities.

This platform aims at the integration of different data from the water utilities with several information systems and the assessment of the system performance, in terms of water losses, energy efficiency and quality of service by using developed tools (i.e., water and energy balances and key performance indicators). This platform was tested with data from five small to medium size Portuguese water utilities with different maturity levels in terms of technological and human resources. Obtained results are very promising since the platform allows to assess the systems performance periodically which constitute an important part of the infrastructure asset management for small and medium-sized water utilities
- Plataforma de apoio à decisão em infraestruturas urbanas de águaPublication . Carriço, Nelson; Ferreira, Bruno; Monteiro, Laura; Mendes, Ana; Grueau, Cédric; Covas, Dídia; Santos, João; Figueira, José Rui; Baio, Miguel; Barreira, Raquel; Silvestre, Ivo; Isidro, Rita; Mestrinho, Jorge; Faím, João; Traitolas, Sónia; Chaveiro, PauloO presente artigo aborda a problemática da integração/interligação dos dados existentes nas diferentes EGs e apresenta o projeto DECIdE - Plataforma de Apoio à Decisão em Infraestruturas Urbanas de Água. O projeto DECIdE tem como objetivo melhorar o conhecimento que as EGs municipais têm acerca das suas infraestruturas urbanas de água, propondo-se o desenvolvimento de uma plataforma informática que integre os dados provenientes dos diferentes sistemas de informação e a inclusão de algumas ferramentas para o apoio à tomada de decisão. O projeto desenrola-se em três atividades principais, nomeadamente, A1 – Caracterização dos sistemas de informação; A2 – Desenvolvimento da plataforma; e A3 – Desenvolvimento de relatórios. A primeira atividade envolve a caracterização e levantamento dos SI existentes entre as entidades parceiras do projeto. A segunda atividade consiste no desenvolvimento da plataforma que integrará os dados dos diferentes SI identificados na primeira atividade. Nesta atividade, algumas ferramentas de avaliação serão também implementadas, como o cálculo do balanço hídrico. Por fim, a terceira atividade consiste na preparação de documentação, como o guia do utilizador e as diretrizes de práticas recomendadas para a gestão eficiente da informação.
