- Brinquedo de Valongo. Design de um kit lúdico para a infânciaPublication . Maia, Catarina; Lemos, JoãoO projeto “O Brinquedo de Valongo” centra-se na construção de um kit pedagógico, lúdico e construtivo, baseado nos brinquedos da região de Valongo, para as crianças contactarem com os aspetos históricos e etnográficos associados a estes artefactos e criem os seus próprios objetos, desenvolvendo a criatividade e o pensamento abstrato. Este kit visa sensibilizar os educadores para as questões culturais associados ao brinquedo e potenciar a criação de atividades lúdicas e pedagógicas em infantários e escolas. O kit para construção do brinquedo articulado em papel, é composto por nove peças soltas em cartão, cinco fios coloridos, três desdobráveis com esquemas de montagem e um livro informativo com um breve resumo da história do brinquedo tradicional de Valongo. Este kit encontra a sua motivação na sua utilização como extensão pedagógica aliada à preservação de uma memória que justifica manter, valorizar e disseminar.

Serra-Pereira, Bárbara; Maia, Catarina; Lagarto, Neide; Figueiredo, Ivone; Instituto Português do Mar e da AtmosferaIPMA is responsible for the study and scientific advice on the state of exploitation of some skate species with commercial interest. About 80% of skate and ray species’ landings are by-catch from the Portuguese polyvalent fleet, consisting of vessels holding licenses for various fishing gears (e.g. trammel nets, gillnets, longlines) and operating on the Portuguese continental shelf. The five species with more commercial interest are: thornback ray, Raja clavate; blonde ray, R. brachyura; spotted ray, R. montagui; cuckoo ray, Leucoraja naevus; and undulate ray, R. undulata. The Common Fisheries Policy of the European Union is responsible for the management of each skate stock. The management tool used is the establishment of Total Allowable Catch (TACs). In Portugal, additional technical management measures (e.g. seasonal closure, minimum catch size) were also legislated. The quality of scientific advice on exploitation state of the different stocks of skates, which for ICES Division 27.9a (including Portugal and Spain) is done every two years since 2014, is strongly dependent on the quality of available information, particularly on the biology and dynamics of these species and on their fisheries. The economic and social importance of these fisheries for fishing communities makes the research carried out at IPMA fundamental to increase the knowledge on skate and ray species and provide scientific advice for the management of the different stocks occurring in mainland Portugal. This report gives an overview of the research studies carried out at IPMA/IPIMAR since 2003.
