Abstract(s)
essencial neste momento. A comunicação, a compreensão, a interajuda, o sentimento
The process of adapting children and families to daycare is a fundamental and very detailed phase. The entire process is unique and essential for the well-being of children and all involved parties. The time for adapting to daycare is different from child to child, but also from family to family. There are therefore several strategies that the educator can put into practice to improve this entire delicate process. The participation of families and their integration by educators is essential at this time. Communication, understanding, mutual help, and a feeling of trust between both parties lead to quality education and the successful development and well-being of the child. Therefore, within the scope of the Master's in Pre-School Education course, our work aims to understand the process of adapting a group of children and families to daycare, namely the strategies created by early childhood educators to facilitate the entire process of adaptation of children and families and understanding the role of parents and educators in this process. To reach our objective, we created a questionnaire that was answered by 24 families. Four interviews were also carried out with kindergarten teachers who were currently working in a daycare context. With the results obtained, we were able to reflect that the entire adaptation process is a team effort on both sides. Communication and understanding are fundamental to everyone’s successful adaptation at the beginning of the process.
