O projeto h2o+nacl baseia-se em dois temas bastante diferentes, mas ao mesmo sui generis pela junção das suas particularidades: a tipografia e o mar.
Ambos os temas surgiram, juntaram-se e, através das suas características muito próprias, deram origem a uma fonte experimental.
A tipografia, pelo próprio desafio e pela sua importância na indústria do Design, é o ramo de elite no contexto da comunicação. O mar, pela importância que tem para o aluno em questão, como também pela sua ligação histórico cultural com Portugal.
Desde sempre que esta força da Natureza acompanhou o desenvolvimento do país, pautando as glórias e os feitos heróicos de importância indiscutível a nível mundial, assim como influenciou culturalmente o povo lusitano.
A simbiose entre o mar e o povo português é algo inigualável, no entanto, ela é presentemente sentida de maneira diferente.
Os vários tipos de desportos marítimos são uma dessas maneiras diferentes de ligação ao mar.
O uso de referências bibliográficas, casos de estudo e a recolha de exemplos práticos foram trabalhados em simultâneo com o desenvolvimento do projeto. O resultado da sua aplicação deu origem a uma fonte experimental com o objetivo de não só combinar dois temas aparentemente antagónicos, como também introduzir uma nova ferramenta no mundo publicitário das marcas relacionadas com o mar.
The h2o+nacl project is based on two quite different themes but also sui generis by the combination of their peculiarities: the typography and the sea. Both themes popped up, merged and, through their very own characteristics, gave rise to an experimental typeface. The typography, by its own challenge and importance in the Design industry, it's the elite branch within the context of communication. The sea, due to its importance for this student in particular and for its historical and cultural connection to Portugal. This force of Nature has always been part of the country's growth, was part of the glories and heroic achievements of world-wide undeniable importance, as well as a huge cultural influence for the Lusitanian people. The symbiosis between the sea and the Portuguese people is unique but, nowadays, felt differently. The several types of sea sports are an example of these different ways of connection with the sea. The use of bibliographic references, case study samples and the gathering of practical examples were worked together with the project development. The result of this process gave rise to an experimental typeface which goal is not only to merge these two apparently opposite themes but also introduce a new tool in the advertising world of the sea-related brands.
