Abstract(s)
O presente estudo pretendeu analisar a acessibilidade marítima ao território nacional através da identificação dos recursos e infraestruturas existentes no espaço marítimo e das possíveis ameaças passíveis de ocorrer.
Para atingir o desiderato proposto adotou-se um raciocínio dedutivo, assente numa estratégia qualitativa e num desenho de pesquisa do tipo estudo de caso.
Para o efeito foi analisada a importância dos recursos naturais existentes na plataforma continental bem como das infraestruturas críticas existentes no espaço marítimo. Foram identificadas as possíveis ameaças/riscos que poderiam pôr em causa a segurança desses recursos e infraestruturas. Foram identificadas as infraestruturas portuárias existentes que poderão servir para apoio à componente naval. Após a identificação das infraestruturas existentes foi efetuada uma análise da sua adequabilidade e exequibilidade, tendo sido identificadas as infraestruturas que serão necessárias edificar para garantir a acessibilidade marítima ao território nacional.
Por fim verificou-se que a acessibilidade marítima poderá ser garantida se continuar a existir uma Marinha com capacidade oceânica e que seja capaz de integrar missões da NATO e da União Europeia e se for edificada a capacidade de dragagem e rocega de minas. Verificou-se também a necessidade de investimento em infraestruturas, pelo menos em Sines, nos Açores e na Madeira. Abstract: The present work intended to analyze the maritime accessibility to the national territory through the identification of the existing resources and infrastructures in the maritime space and the possible threats that could occur.
To achieve the proposed goal, deductive reasoning was adopted, based on a qualitative strategy and a case study research design.
For this purpose, the importance of the existing natural resources on the continental shelf was analyzed, as well as the critical infrastructures existing in the maritime space. Possible threats/risks that could jeopardize the security of these resources and infrastructure have been identified. Existing port infrastructures that could serve to support the naval component were also identified. After the identification of the existing infrastructures, an analysis of their suitability and feasibility was carried out, having identified the infrastructures that will be necessary to build to guarantee maritime accessibility to the national territory.
Finally, it was found that maritime accessibility can be guaranteed if there is still a Navy with an oceanic capacity and that is capable of integrating NATO and European Union missions and if minesweeping and minehunting capability is edified. There was also a need for infrastructure, at least in Sines, the Azores and Madeira Islands.
