Abstract(s)
Objetivos: Desenvolver capacidade crítica e reflexiva acerca do percurso formativo e
definidos.
Introduction: Reflection on clinical practice and the several skills acquired during the training process, as a Master's Student in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing, proves to be fundamental. The Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health must have knowledge that allows them to understand the needs of the child and family and provide appropriate Nursing care. The emergence of a chronic illness within the family represents a crisis and increases the development of stress factors, which changes the quality of life, impacting the growth and development of the child and parenting itself. Objectives: Develop critical and reflective ability about the training path and acquisition of Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health skills in different clinical contexts; iden tify and synthesize the scientific articles on nursing interventions that promote the adap tation, coping and parental ´empowerment regarding the chronic illness of kids with a diagnose up to two years of age and develop a intervention plan. Methods: The first chapter provides a critical reflection on the skills developed. The second chapter embarks on an Integrative Literature Review using five databases, with previously defined criteria. Results: The Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health competencies were presented according to practices portrayed in evidence-based practice. The review made it possible to identify the factors that hinder the transition to parenthood in parents of children with chronic illness, as well as the Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health interventions to promote parenting that includes family coping, knowledge and skills of the parental role, socioeconomic support, and the development of health professionals. Conclusions: It is necessary to raise awareness among Specialist Nurse in Child and Pediatric Health about the need to be alert to the difficulties of the sick child and their family, using interventions appropriate to those needs, and they must consider the training of their peers and the child's family. It is necessary to invest in the creation of teams that provide home care in order to meet the needs and difficulties of children with chronic illnesses and their families.
