Abstract(s)
A Escola Primária de Perre é composta por duas obras arquitetónicas distintas do
século XX. Uma das quais, a Escola Dr. Alfredo de Magalhães surge destacada
no Inquérito à Arquitetura Portuguesa do Século XX, desenvolvido pela Ordem dos
Arquitetos. As duas escolas possuem valores semelhantes, no entanto
diferenciam-se pelo seu valor cultural, associado à sua presença no território.
Atualmente, a Escola Primária de Perre está destinada a acolher o Centro
Interpretativo do Vieito, proposto pela Câmara Municipal de Viana do Castelo, que
surge devido à descoberta e destruíção de parte do Castro do Vieito, implantado
na mesma freguesia. Este castro precisa de um espaço para ser valorizado,
conservado e exposto à população. Realça-se assim a predominância de dois
patrimónios distintos, nomeadamente o arquitetónico e o arqueológico.
Esta investigação procura verificar a viabilidade desta proposta real, sendo
prioritario a identificação dos valores associados à Escola Primária de Perre e,
consequentemente a compreensão da intervenção e o uso que melhor se adapta
aos critérios que se enquadram nesta escola do século XX.
A investigação centra-se na Escola Primária de Perre, com o método de estudo de
caso, desenvolvida através da utilização das técnicas de análise documental,
observação, entrevistas, fotografia e notas de campo. É realizado o diagnóstico
deste equipamento, bem como, embora de forma menos exaustiva, das escolas
da mesma tipologia identificadas no país e da mesma época observadas no
concelho.
Através desta investigação foi possível designar uma nova função à Escola
Primária de Perre, um espaço comunitário. A opção parte principalmente dos
valores emocionais e de uso identificados, assim como da análise das escolas
enquadradas na investigação, que demonstram um uso direcionado para a
população local. Mediante esta última análise foi possível estabelecer um
programa com vertentes diversificadas, capaz de abranger diferentes faixas
etárias, de forma a garantir o uso desta escola muito próxima da sua dinâmica
original.
Abstract: The Primary School of Perre, composed by two distinct 20th century architectural works. One of which, the Dr. Alfredo de Magalhães School emerge emphasized in the book “Inquérito à Arquitetura Portuguesa do Século XX”, developed by the Order of Architects. The two schools possess the same identity and historical values, as distinguished only by the architectural value and their presence in the territory. Currently, the Primary School of Perre is designed to be the Interpretive Center of the Vieito, proposed by the City Council of Viana do Castelo, which appears due to the discovery and destruction of part of the Castro do Vieito implanted in the same parish. This castro needs a space to be Valued, conserved and exposed to the population. Said that, is accentuated the predominance of two distinct patrimonies, namely the architectural and the archaeological. This research tries to understand this real proposal, being priority the identification of the values associated to the Primary School of Perre and, consequently, the understanding of the intervention and the use that best adapts to the criteria that fit in this school of century XX This research focuses on the Primary School of Perre, with the case study method, developed trought the use of techniques of documentary analysis, observation, interviews, photography and field notes. The diagnosis of these building, as well as in a less exhaustive way, of schools of the same typology found in the country and in the same time found in the town hall. In conclusion, through this research it was possible to develop a new purpose for the Primary School of Perre as a community space. This new purpose is based on building emotional and use values, as well as the analysis of other schools in this investigation, which demonstrate a directed use for the local population. Through this last analysis, it was also possible to establish a program with diversified strands, aiming to capture all age groups, in order to guarantee the usefulness of this school very close to its original dynamics.
