Abstract(s)
O caso clínico apresentado visa a reabilitação oral de uma doente de 48 anos, do sexo feminino, desdentada parcial com doença periodontal, tendo por base tratamentos de várias valências da medicina dentária, nomeadamente, preventiva, passando pela cirurgia oral, periodontologia e reabilitação oral.
A interligação existente entre as várias especialidades é de elevada importância clínica, de modo a que o resultado final de cada tratamento tenha sucesso em todas as funções para as quais o sistema estomatognático foi criado, mormente, a mastigação, fonação, deglutição e estética.
Atualmente, os profissionais possuem diversas opções terapêuticas e materiais cientificamente comprovados para solucionar as mais variadas situações.
Devido à complexidade do caso foi necessário um diagnóstico e planeamento de modo a ser obtida uma reabilitação oral eficaz. Diversas opções foram propostas para a reabilitação final, sendo aceite pela doente como tratamento protético a colocação de
próteses parciais acrílicas superior e inferior devido à elevada mobilidade dentária (grau
3).
O objetivo deste caso clínico prende-se por apresentar as consultas prestadas a uma doente e a sua recuperação através de um trabalho individualizado, obtendo como resultado final a recuperação da saúde oral, o restabelecimento das funções mastigatórias e a recuperação da estética dentária.
The clinical case presented aims the oral rehabilitation of 48-years-old partially edentulous patient with periodontal disease, based on several valences, in particular, prevention, oral surgery, periodontology and oral rehabilitation. The interconnection between all dental specialties is of high clinical importance, so that final result of each treatment can succeed in all functions for which the stomatognathic system was created, mainly, chewing, phonation, swallowing and aesthetics. Currently, dentists have several therapeutic options and materials scientifically proven to solve the most varied situations. In this complex case, it was necessary to make an appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan to achieve an oral rehabilitation, being chosen as prosthetic treatment the placement of a partial upper and lower acrylic prosthesis due to the high dental mobility. The main objective of the study of this clinical case is to present the appointments given to a patient and her recovery through an individualized work, obtaining as a final result the recovery of the oral health, the restoration of the masticatory functions and the recovery of the dental aesthetics.
