O presente estudo intitulado Da Formação na PSP à Realidade Policial – Estudo exploratório sobre a utilização de meios coercivos de elevada potencialidade letal procura analisar se a formação profissional existente na Polícia de Segurança Pública no tocante ao treino com armas de fogo está adequada à realidade policial, ou seja, se está adequada às necessidades quotidianas dos elementos policiais
Em termos metodológicos procurou-se, através do recurso à técnica de entrevista estruturada, recolher informação tecnicamente especializada junto de pessoal qualificado em treino com armas de fogo. As entrevistas possibilitaram ainda recolher dados junto de elementos que durante o exercício das suas funções fizeram recurso a arma de fogo contra pessoas.
Através do método adoptado recolhemos aspectos inerentes ao treino, bem como, informação sobre a realidade policial.
The present study entitled From the PSP formation to the Police reality – Exploratory study concerning the use of coercive means that have lethally high potential aims to analyze whether the existing professional formation, on the subject of firearms training in the Public Security Police, is suitable to the Police reality, by other words, whether it is appropriate for the daily needs of police officers. Methodologically, we tried to gather technically specialized data from the personnel qualified in firearms training, through the use of the structured interviews technique. The interviews have also allowed us to collect data from the elements that have used a firearm against persons during the exercise of their functions. Trough the adopted method we gathered a set of aspects inherent to the training, as well as information about police reality.
