Tendo em conta a importância o Património Cultural Marítimo e do Património
Cultural Subaquático para Portugal, em particular, a presente dissertação de mestrado,
subordinada ao tema “PROJETO ARCHIMARIA - Conceptualização de uma Base de
Dados para o Património Cultural Subaquática em ambiente SIG”, aborda a construção
de uma base de dados georreferenciada com tratamento de dados em ambiente Sistema
de Informação Geográfica (SIG). Esta pretende reunir e consolidar toda a informação
existente sobre esta temática numa única aplicação, na medida em que visa construir
uma aplicação de trabalho para a comunidade científica e uma outra aplicação de
divulgação através de um Web Map Service.
Para tal, este projeto contou com a análise de projetos de referência, tanto a nível
nacional como a nível mundial, extraindo-lhes algumas ferramentas técnicas, de modo a
aplicá-las de forma inovadora no projeto ARCHIMARIA. Tendo sido também bastante
vantajoso a opinião de especialistas nesta área, estudo de tutoriais e para aspetos mais
técnicos, a consulta de fóruns relacionados com a temática.
Este projeto surgiu de uma parceria entre o Centro de Investigação Naval
(CINAV) e a Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (FCSH), com o intuito de dar
mais dinamismo a esta área do Património Cultural Marítimo de Portugal.
Este projeto encontrou um equilíbrio para a estruturação e organização da base
de dados, na medida de que não podia ser pesada nem complexa, pois seria difícil
manuseá-la e compreendê-la, no entanto também não podia ser simples, ao ponto de não conseguir agregar toda a informação útil e necessária que este projeto acarreta, podendo
até perder algum dinamismo.
Taking in count the importance of the Maritime Cultural Patrimony and the Subaquatic Cultural Patrimony of Portugal, in particular, the present master's degree dissertation, subject to the theme "PROJETO ARCHIMARIA - Conceptualisation of a data base for the Subaquatic Cultural Patrimony in GIS ambient", explains the construction of a georeferenced data base with data treatment in Geographic Information System (GIS) ambient. It pretends to gather and consolidate all the existent information about this theme in one only application, trying to construct a work application to the scientific community and another divulgation application by a Web Map Service. For this, this project counted with reference project analysis, both nationally and globally, extracting some technical tools, so that we can apply it innovatively in ARCHIMARIA project. It was also advantageous the opinion of experts in this area, tutorial studies and consultation forums related to the theme for more technical aspects. This project emerged of a partnership between Centro de Investigação Naval (CINAV) and Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (FCSH), in order to give more dynamism in this area of the Maritime Cultural Patrimony of Portugal. This project found a balance for structuring and organizing the data base, which could not be heavy or complex, because it would be difficult to handle and understand it. However it could not be simple, since it would not aggregate the useful information needed that this project has and may even lose some dynamism.
