| dc.description.abstract | O politraumatismo felino é um dos casos mais frequentes em ambiente hospitalar. Este pode ter várias etiologias, como atropelamento, quedas, brigas ou acidentes domésticos. Consequentemente, estar preparado e ter conhecimento dos primeiros socorros e triagem a fornecer em casos de lesões ortopédicas, torácicas ou o choque são competências necessárias a um enfermeiro veterinário que trabalhe neste ambiente. No presente relatório são descritas as etiologias, lesões mais comuns derivadas das mesmas, a abordagem realizada no hospital a estes animais e ainda o papel do enfermeiro veterinário em períodos peri-operatórios quando a cirurgia é uma opção de tratamento. O estágio que possibilitou a realização deste trabalho realizado pela aluna teve a duração de 15 semanas, iniciando-se a 12 de fevereiro de 2024 e terminando a 27 de maio no AniCura Algarve Hospital Veterinário. Foi efetuado com o intuito de finalização da licenciatura de enfermagem veterinária e consolidação de conhecimentos. Durante este período a estagiária acompanhou 514 animais, sendo 316 cães, 291 gatos e ainda 7 novos animais de companhia (furões, coelhos e roedores), e acompanhou áreas como o internamento, exames complementares de diagnóstico, apoio à cirurgia e anestesia e ainda tarefas na sala de enfermaria, onde realizou várias tarefas de enfermeiro veterinário de forma autónoma. Dos 291 felinos acompanhados, 23 destes apresentaram diferentes tipos de traumas, logo diferentes abordagens e tratamentos. Como tal, este foi o tema escolhido para a elaboração deste relatório, que apresenta um caso clínico sobre atropelamento e outro relativo à síndrome do gato paraquedista. Em suma, o papel que o EV desempenha na triagem e acompanhamento destes animais é de extrema importância e deve ser ainda mais valorizado no futuro. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Feline multi-trauma is one of the most common cases in hospital environment. It can have various causes, such as being hit by a car, falls, fights or domestic accidents. Consequently, being prepared and having knowledge of the first aid and triage to provide in cases of orthopaedic, thoracic or shock injuries are necessary skills for a veterinary nurse working in this environment. This report describes the etiologies, the most common injuries resulting from them, the approach taken to these animals at the hospital and the role of the veterinary nurse in peri-operative periods when surgery is a treatment option. The internship that enabled the student to carry out this work lasted 15 weeks, starting on February 12, 2024 and ending on May 27 at AniCura Algarve Veterinary Hospital. It was carried out with the aim of completing her degree in veterinary nursing and consolidating her knowledge. During this period, the trainee accompanied 514 animals, 316 dogs, 291 cats and 7 new pets (ferrets, rabbits and rodents), and monitored areas such as hospitalization, complementary diagnostic tests, support for surgery and anesthesia, as well as tasks in the ward, where she carried out various veterinary nursing tasks autonomously. Of the 291 felines monitored, 23 had different types of trauma and therefore different approaches and treatments. As such, this was the topic chosen for this report, which presents a clinical case of being run over and another of high-rise syndrome. To sum up, the role that the EV plays in screening and monitoring these animals is extremely important and should be even more valued in the future. | pt_PT |
