Abstract(s)
The process of transition to parenthood, due to the inherent changes, such as the readjustment of roles and acquisition of skills at various levels, conditions the couple to make adjustments in the relationship, particularly in the context of conjugality in order to maintain marital satisfaction, which can cause vulnerability and stress. The project methodology was used, and the results of the scoping review carried out to map the scientific evidence on the contribution of the family nurse in reconciling conjugality with parenthood, in the context of primary health care, contributed to the im-plementation of the intervention project. This project aimed to maintain marital satisfac-tion in the face of the challenges and changes caused by the birth of the first child and the challenges of today's society. A quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive research study was developed, involving 4 pregnant families and 6 families with only children up to the first year of life, the results of which allowed the identification of 2 families with an intermediate level of parental stress and identify that in relation to the fear of childbirth, families highlighted the fear of complications and losing control as a cause of greater stress. The families identified as most vulnerable were monitored, nursing interventions were planned using Figueiredo's Dynamic Family Assessment and Intervention Model that allowed responding to the identified difficulties and after implementing the interventions, the results obtained revealed parental stress reduction, emotional improvement, identification and activation of the support network and improvement in communication. This demonstrated the effectiveness of family health nursing interventions in promoting family empowerment and family well-being. As a final consideration, the role that the family nurse can assume is reinforced in training parental skills during pregnancy and postpartum periods combined with mar-ital satisfaction. Clarifying what is being experienced at each moment was observed to facilitate parental trust, contributing to the reduction of anxiety.
