Abstract(s)
tenham uma relação de parentesco, nomeadamente pai/padrasto; mãe/madrasta; sogro(a);
vista à mitigação do fenómeno e melhorar a prevenção dessa tipologia criminal.
In the present study we reflect on the evolution of a subtype of Domestic Violence, namely Child Parental Violence committed by adults against elderly people with whom they have a kinship relationship, namely father/stepfather; mother/stepmother; father-in-law/motherin-law, in a specific geographical reality - Autonomous Region of the Azores - in which the Public Security Police is the territorially competent Security Force. Because criminal phenomena are constantly evolving and facing the demands of the globalized and risky society in which we live, we intended to understand the dynamics and evolution that this criminal typology is having among the elderly population in the Azores. Furthermore, considering its geographical delimitation, the Autonomous Region of the Azores can be as a sample for the national reality and support an analysis that allows concluding whether there is a need to reinforce the policing and prevention policies already implemented, mitigating the phenomenon and improving the prevention of this phenomenon criminal typology. This type of reflection is important for the Public Security Police to remain at the forefront of the fight against crime, from a perspective of effectiveness and efficiency, with a strong focus on criminal prevention applied to the triad “Police – Victim – Criminal” that affects each one of us. at different levels.
