Abstract(s)
Background: Hospitalization in intensive care entails an increased risk for the patient of associated complications that can mean psychological, physical and functional impairments. The EEER plays a fundamental role in identifying and modifying risk factors and in the early rehabilitation of critically ill patients with the aim of maintaining and recovering their physical and functional condition. Objectives: Identify, the interventions developed by the EEER’s of an ICU, analyze the exercise of their functions, identify difficulties experienced and proposals to overcome them, and analyze the records made. Finally, develop a proposal for aRehabilitation Nursing work method in the ICU, based on the information collected and extensive bibliographical research. Methodology: A descriptive exploratory study with intentional and accessible sampling, using an open questionnaire. After data collection, content analysis was carried out with a process of categorization and extraction of results. Results: Rehabilitation Nursing interventions practiced by EEER in the ICU context were identified, as well as perceived barriers in their practice and strategies to overcome them. Conclusion: After the analysis of the study results and an extensive literature research, three proposals for Rehabilitation Nursing work methods in the ICU were developed, encompassing motor rehabilitation, respiratory rehabilitation, and swallowing rehabilitation.
