Abstract(s)
A presente investigação tem como tema “A Bateria High Altitude Missile Air Defense do Grupo de Artilharia Antiaérea: a sua implementação no Exército Português” e tem como objetivo geral elaborar uma proposta de um sistema High Altitude Missile Air Defense tendo em conta as necessidades nacionais e do Exército Português.
No atual campo de batalha, a Artilharia Antiaérea é uma força que possui um papel relevante na execução das operações militares, tornando-se assim pertinente descrever os conceitos a si relativos e caracterizar a Artilharia Antiaérea portuguesa.
A Artilharia Antiaérea é caracterizada pelos diversos sistemas que a constituem, sendo que os sistemas High Altitude Missile Air Defense possibilitam a deteção e empenhamento sobre ameaças aéreas a altas altitudes e a elevados alcances.
Assim, nesta investigação pretende-se identificar vários conceitos relacionados com a defesa aérea, descrever a forma de atuação da Artilharia Antiaérea no âmbito da Aliança Transatlântica, identificar a constituição da Artilharia Antiaérea portuguesa e comparar diversos sistemas High Altitude Missile Air Defense, de forma a constituir uma possível Bateria destes sistemas, de acordo com os requisitos identificados nesta investigação.
Relativamente à metodologia, foi utilizado o método dedutivo e quanto à estratégia de investigação foi utilizada a estratégia qualitativa. Assim, a recolha de dados foi realizada através de uma análise documental e foram realizadas entrevistas a Oficiais do Exército Português, a fim de recolher informações acerca da temática em estudo.
Esta investigação permitiu concluir que a possível Bateria High Altitude Missile Air Defense seria constituída pelo sistema IRIS-T e permitira complementar os meios de AAA existentes atualmente, permitiria oferecer uma constante defesa de pontos e áreas sensíveis e asseguraria uma capacidade de resposta adequada a todo o espectro de ameaças aéreas situadas nas médias e altas altitudes.
The present research has as a theme “The High Altitude Missile Air Defense Battery of the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Group: its implementation in the Portuguese Army" and has as a general objective to elaborate a proposal for a High and Medium Air Defense system taking into account the national and the Portuguese Army needs. In today's battlefield, the Anti-Aircraft Artillery is a force that plays a relevant role in the execution of military operations, thus becoming relevant to describe the concepts related to it and to characterise the Portuguese Anti-Aircraft Artillery. Anti-Aircraft Artillery is characterised by its various systems. High Altitude Missile Air Defense systems enable the detection and engagement commitment of air threats at high altitudes and at high ranges. The aim of this research is to identify several concepts related to air defence, to describe how the Portuguese anti-aircraft artillery operates within the Transatlantic Alliance, to identify the constitution of the Portuguese anti-aircraft artillery and to compare several High Altitude Missile Air Defense systems in order to constitute a possible Battery of these systems, according to the requirements identified in this research. Regarding the methodology, the deductive method was used and as for the research strategy, the qualitative strategy was used. Thus, data collection was carried out through a documental analysis and interviews were conducted with Portuguese Army Officers, in order to collect information about the theme under study. This research concluded that the possible High Altitude Missile Air Defence Battery would consist of the system IRIS-T and would allow for the complementing of the Anti-Aircraft Artillery resources that currently exist, would provide a constant defence of sensitive points and areas and would ensure an adequate response capacity to the whole spectrum of air threats located in the medium and high altitudes.
