Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação transpõe uma investigação no âmbito do Mestrado de Gestão
e Administração de Escolas do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal. A investigação tem
como foco a educação pré-escolar e pretende fazer uma análise da gestão da mesma
no ensino público e no ensino privado. Deste modo a investigação da temática é
realizada em duas instituições escolares da mesma cidade, ambas com o ensino pré-
escolar inserido e sendo uma de carácter público e a outra de carácter privado. Irá ser
alvo de estudo os tipos de gestão das duas escolas, com foco no pré-escolar, e a
perceção que os educadores de infância e os encarregados de educação têm dessa
gestão. Assim sendo, o objetivo neste estudo é analisar a gestão escolar do pré-
escolar numa escola pública e numa escola privada.
O principal intuito é comparar a gestão escolar do pré-escolar numa escola pública e
numa escola privada, identificando como é feita essa gestão em ambas as escolas
através da realização de entrevistas a elementos da gestão escolar e recolhendo
dados através de questionários junto dos educadores e encarregados de educação
acerca do assunto. Passando posteriormente à análise dos dados recolhidos e após
reflexão dos mesmos para concluir acerca da gestão nos dois tipos de ensino.
This dissertation represents an investigation conducted within the scope of the master’s program in School Management and Administration at the Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal. The research focuses on Pre-school education and aims to analyze its management in both the public and private education sectors. To achieve this, the research examines two educational institutions within the same city, both offering Pre- school education, with one being publicly funded and the other privately owned. The study will explore the management styles employed in both schools, with a specific focus on Pre-school education, and will assess how preschool educators and parent’s perception this management. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the school management of Pre-school education in a public school and a private school. The primary purpose is to compare the management of Pre-school education in both settings, identifying the approaches taken by both schools through interviews with members of the school management and by gathering data through questionnaires administered to educators and parents on the subject. Subsequently, the collected data will be analyzed and reflected upon to draw conclusions regarding management in these two types of educational institutions.
