Abstract(s)
No entanto, as consequências vão
A amostra
Aging has become a worldwide phenomenon experienced in many societies, demanding for adaptation to optimize this progression. The occurrence of falls is one of the consequences of this chapter of life, which translate into multiple outcomes, fatal or not, for the elderly. The consequences although physical, are also in family dynamics and society itself, for those reasons prevention of falls is essential. Using the Health Planning methodology, a community nursing intervention project was designed, entitled "Training to Avoid: Say No to Falling”, which the objective was to capacitate the elderly at the CCQC Day Center teaching them behaviors to prevent them from falling, this took place from October 2022 to January 2023. This project was based on Nola Pender's conceptual model of Health Promotion. A data collection instrument was built, based on the model mentioned before, which is simultaneously divided into the Determinants of Active Aging defined by the WHO (2002), as well as the following scales: (1) MMSE; (2) Morse Falls Scale; (3) Barthel Index; and (4) Scale of Practices and Behaviors of the Elderly to Prevent Falls in the Community. Data processing and analysis was conducted using the SPSS Statistic software. The non-probabilistic and intentional sample, fixed by thirteen individuals, after prioritization presented the following ICNPâ nursing diagnoses: (1) Compromised Mobility; (2) Compromised Knowledge about fall prevention; and (3) Compromised Communication. Seven activities were developed that address different themes, in fall prevention. These activities were developed using Strategies to improve Health Literacy, patient Incentive and Engagement, as well as focusing on capacitating health professionals. In evaluating the project, it was possible to verify the gains in health obtained through the acquisition of fall prevention techniques/behaviors.
