Abstract(s)
A ocorrência de pontos de biodiversidade é cada vez mais escassa, o que torna a preservação dos locais onde ela existe prioritária. A mata da ESAC, situada em Coimbra, é um desses locais. Neste plano de ação é abordada a biodiversidade da mata, através dos habitats naturais classificados nela representados e os fatores negativos que a colocam em potencial risco. Para combater a degradação da mata são propostas medidas para a promoção da sua biodiversidade, como a criação de charcos, a construção de infraestruturas para a fauna e o controlo de espécies invasoras. Para a sua valorização e sensibilização ambiental é proposta a criação de trilhos pedestres temáticos ao longo da mata. Estando envolvida por um centro urbano, esta promoção e valorização dos valores naturais pode servir como uma ferramenta pioneira educacional para a sensibilização da população da região centro, através do envolvimento da sociedade na aplicação deste plano de ação.
The occurrence of biodiversity points is increasingly scarce, which makes the preservation of the sites where it still exists a priority. The ESAC forest, located in Coimbra, is one of those sites. This action plan addresses the forest biodiversity, through the classified natural habitats represented, and the negative factors that put it at a potential risk. To prevent the degradation of this forest, measures like the creation of ponds, the construction of infrastructures to fauna and the control of invasive species are proposed. To promote and value it´s biodiversity, as well as a mean of environmental awareness to society, the creation of pedestrian themed routes is also proposed. Being surrounded by an urban center, this promotion and valuation of the natural values may serve as a pioneering educational tool to raise awareness among the population of the region, through the involvement of society in the application of this action plan.
