Abstract(s)
impactos (económicos, ambientais e sociais significativos, sejam eles positivos,
a fábrica, outros projetos relevantes e as tabelas GRI.
This work, carried out to acquire knowledge related to laboratory experience in a business context and acquisition of knowledge related to sustainability reports. In terms of laboratory activities, several quick analyses were carried out, such as checking for the existence of pests, measuring humidity, bleaching the raw material to validate the discharge and quick visualization of the grains (amount of cracks and appearance). The determination of the biometric characteristics of the rice samples, the determination of the cooking time, the analysis of the viscosity and the analysis of counter samples were carried out in more detail. As for the sustainability area, research was carried out on the sustainability reports of several companies that served as the basis for preparing Novarroz first sustainability report in accordance with the GRI guidelines. The GRI Guidelines offer principles, content and an implementation manual so that the most diverse organizations, despite their size, sector or location, can prepare sustainability reports. The Guidelines also constitute an international reference for all those interested in disclosing information about: the way organizations manage, environmental performance, social performance, economic performance and impacts (significant economic, environmental and social, be they positive, negative, actual, potential, direct, indirect, short-term, long-term, expected or unexpected). In the case of Novarroz, the main topics that make up the sustainability report prepared are materiality, social responsibility, agriculture, the factory, other relevant projects and the GRI tables. The work carried out had a contribution in two aspects from the company Novarroz. On the one hand, it allowed the publication of the company's first sustainability report and, on the other hand, it contributed to the increase in rice characterization results, in partnership projects established between Novarroz and the University of Aveiro
