Abstract(s)
efetuado.

This report focuses on the internships developed at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, more specifically in the Multipurpose Accident & Emergency Service (Clinical Practice I), in the Multipurpose Intensive Care Unit (Clinical Practice II and III (Module I)) and in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (Optional Internship), reflecting on personal and professional skills, values, beliefs and attitudes intrinsic to the taken path. This report integrates a descriptive and analytical methodology, based on scientific evidence, in order to demonstrate the development in the domains of common and specific competences of the specialist nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing, through the exposition of the situations and interventions in which I describe how I acted throughout the stages. As the final objective, it is intended to highlight the development of a Master's skills, through the public presentation and discussion of this internship report, situations arising from professional practice and their implications into a holistic care. The search for excellence in the professional practice as a process of skills development, the expertise in developing the ability to recognize and anticipate signs and symptoms of patient deterioration and instability in a critical care situation, have become the main objectives when mobilizing knowledge. It enabled, the intrinsic motivation, for the development of a scientific and practical knowledge in the form of improving critical thinking so that the provision of care to the critical patient was carried out, guaranteeing their safety, minimizing potential risks, and caring for them holistically, as a vulnerable person, not forgetting the family/next of kin, promoting so a healthy transition.
