Abstract(s)
O objetivo é mapear as
Nurses represent the largest group of healthcare professionals and are of particular importance in end-of-life care. It is essential that these services are provided in a comprehensive and integrated manner, with a holistic and humane approach, ensuring quality in strict compliance with ethical, deontological and legal principles. The essence of nursing is the ability to care for others. This reflects a commitment to the dignity and well-being of patients. As an integral member of interdisciplinary teams, the nurse should develop skills in palliative care, as caring for individuals and their families throughout the life cycle will inevitably include end-of-life care, which can be challenging. The skin is of paramount importance to the nurse, being the largest visible organ in the human body and undergoing a multitude of changes throughout life, with a plethora of significant physiological consequences. It is thus imperative that the skin be subjected to constant assessment. This report not only addresses the objectives set for the development of the competences of a specialist nurse and master, but also meets my personal and professional needs. The report is based on a description and reflection of the process of acquiring the competences required for professional practice in different clinical teaching contexts. Furthermore, it highlights the critical and reflective methodology used to describe the common, specific and master competences of the nurse specialising in medical-surgical nursing in the field of palliative care, with the aim of obtaining a master's degree. The two chapters of the report are structured as follows. The first chapter provides a description and reflection on the learning journey and the subsequent acquisition of competencies. The second chapter, in contrast, presents a scoping review of the literature on skin alterations in end-of-life patients. The objective is to map nursing interventions aimed at the care of end-of-life patients with skin changes.
