Abstract(s)
Institute (2015), utilizando-se as bases de dados Medline with Full Text, CINAHL Plus
with Full Text e Cochrane Database of systematic reviews.
This report aims to demonstrate the learning path as a student of Master Midwifery Course through a critical and reflective analysis of the activities carried out throughout the internships. In order to achieve the competencies defined for the internship, the following purpose was outlined: to develop competencies in the provision of specialized care to women/newborn/family, during the different stages of labor, puerperium and neonatal period. Simultaneously to the objectives set with the aim of achieving the midwifery competencies defined by the Portuguese college of midwifery, a specific objective was elaborated corresponding to the student's theme of interest, “Postpartum Parenting Difficulties: Intervention of the Obstetrician Nurse in the Transition and Parenting” which is: to develop skills in midwifery interventions in promoting the transition to healthy parenting. In each of the objectives, an analysis was also included referring to Dublin descriptors which define competences to develop for the master´s degree attribution. The transition to parenting is a phase of the family cycle in which the couple experiences many changes. Futhermore, in the postpartum period, the greatest difficulties arise, leading to the need to acquire new skills. (Gama, E., 2014). Based on the above aspects, the following research question was defined: “What postpartum midwifery interventions promote a transition to healthy parenting?” To answer the question, a survey was conducted on the EBSCO Host platform between March 1 and 30, 2019 and again between May 6 and 30, 2020, according to Joanna Briggs Institute (2015), using Medline with Full Text, CINAHL Plus with Full Text and Cochrane Database databases of systematic reviews. After analysis of the eligible studies, the importance of the midwife in the transition to parenting is proved and some important interventions pointed out by parents are evidenced, which sought to cross with the needs and interests of the target population of the internship place. As a conceptual model, Afaf Meleis' Theory of Transitions was chosen.
